I would love if they remade the first two games into the current free-roam format. Maybe refine the second ones story to make Frank Horrigan a bit more substantial.

And while I know it's probably not happening anytime soon, I really do hope that someday they actually make Van Buren. From all the concept art and bits of story about the game it looked really interesting and i really wanna see it all.
The VB version of Hoover Dam was pretty cool - too bad we will never see it.Pretty much all of the lore they wanted from VB was in New Vegas.

Going to really disagree with you there. The intro of the game doesn't reflect the actual story of the game. I'm fairly certain nothing about the actual story of the game was revealed and while the idea of playing for a little bit before the war is interesting, I doubt much information about the state of the world is going to be given.Fallout 4's story is interesting because you get to interact within the Pre-War timeline from the very beginning.

Considering the intro, it really would serve as nothing more than just a prologue from the looks of it, especially after you make your character's face. As for the rest of the world, the Fallout wiki mentioned a cancelled Fallout game titled Fallout Extreme. Had that game been made, we could of seen post-apocalyptic China and parts of post-apocalyptic Russian steppes.Going to really disagree with you there. I personally think that exploring or learning more about other post war is way more interesting than learning about pre-war shit. We've only seen tiny parts of America in the Fallout games, what's the rest of the world like?
I doubt Bethesda will handle it well at all judging from the preview material that was showed at E3. The guy wakes up, says nothing when he gets to the top (dialogue could have been cut out for preview purposes, but I somewhat doubt that), and only has a moment of disbelief when he speaks to his Mr. Handy butler. With that in mind, I'm curious as to how Bethesda will handle the Survivor's adaptation to the post-war world.
Also, plot prediction: The reason why Todd couldn't tell you why you're the sole survivor of Vault 111 during the E3 showcase is because you're actually an android with false memories, whose face is based off a dead Vault 111 dweller. You find this out when you go "back" to Vault 111 and find "your" corpse/cryogenically preserved body.
There seem to be some options, though, so that may have been just what was picked, and honestly I'd put it down to shock. The Survivor DID just wake up, after all, so they'd be out of sorts. There also may be cut reactions we didn't get to see.only has a moment of disbelief when he speaks to his Mr. Handy butler

You're assuming Bethesda is above retcons and cares about such detailInteresting. I don't think it would happen for 3 major reasons:
1.) Stimpacks and chems won't work on bots. Synths, while created for infiltration by the Institute, are not perfect, and they actually don't need to consume anything; its part of their disguise. It doesn't heal them or give them sustenance.
2.) This creates another problem as well. When a doctor checks up the PC, he would definitely figure out that they were a synth all along via close examination. They have flesh, but they don't have hearts or brains.
3.) Rad should't even harm the PC at all. From whatever we know, even the newest synth models are pretty much robotic in nature.
It's most likely to be a clone at worst.

I think the lengths they went to to have such decent PC/NPC models that don't look like Victorian Period dolls is going to have some sacrifices in other areas I'd imagine, but at least Fallout didn't go through with converting to MMO (unlike some other RPG's, KNIGHTS OF THE OLD REPUBLIC...)...
I dunno it seems like the series is used to departures.I wonder what celebrity our father will be voiced by this time?
I know that I'll probably buy Fallout 4, I know that I'll probably even like Fallout 4, but I'm really getting bad vibes from this whole thing. The Mass Effect-style dialogue system, the voiced protagonist, the inclusion of a Hearthfire-esque building mechanic... It just seems like Fallout is getting farther and farther away from the game that I love -- which is good in some ways and bad in others.
I'm actually inclined to agree re skills. SPECIAL is what is intrinsic to Fallout, skills were only relevant for the old cRPG days. But the voiced dialogue is just a gimmick that's took money away from other development and I can't help but wonder how it will work for mods including their own dialogue. Plus the Mass Effext style radial, less dialogue options and less clarity. Even if they wanted to have the responses tied to buttons they could have had the full line at the bottom so we know what we are saying.I dunno it seems like the series is used to departures.
Fallout Tactics was a departure. Fallout Brotherhood of Steel was a departure. Fallout 3 was a HUGE departure from the originals.
I think if Fallout wants to survive it needs to adapt and try to do things in a different way. I think removing stats and having a voiced protagonist might very well be an improvement honestly over the stilted one-sided dialogue we've already seen for 4 games now. The building mechanic looks great and it looks like something that really could be expanded upon with mods.
Considering that its Bethesda in terms of mods and dialogue, it could be NPC's and the player character having text of their speech play out while they just look at each other without any voice over.I'm actually inclined to agree re skills. To my knowledge SPECIAL is still in but skills have been completely overhauled into a perk only systemWell, you have me there (except the part about BOS, as nothing will ever convince me it was worth even the paper the manual was printed on). And they removed stats? I had no idea. I know that they're keeping the SPECIAL system of attributes at the very least.
I do have to agree with you that the building mechanic is a neat idea, but I'm just not into that kind of thing.
