I thought as much. Thanks for the confirmationYes in the books and movies he’s James Bond, son of Andrew and Monique Bond. When he marries Tracy, she takes his name.
Two good, one OK (Quantum), one bad, and this
Let's not get crazy here. Goldeneye was a solid, fun movie and certainly Brosnan's best, but in no way would I say it's one of the best. It's behind all of Connery's, both of Dalton's, Live & Let Die, Spy Who Loved Me, Casino Royale and QoS in my opinion.Goldeneye still holds up as one of the best Bond films of the series. Die Another Day is bad, but oddly enough it's still watchable. It's a "turn your brain off and relax" kind of film akin to some of Roger Moore films, with some moments of horrendous CGI to laugh at.
I unapologetically liked QoS as a companion movie to Casino Royale. I thought it was still gritty, had some heart and soul, and one of the best scenes in a bond movie - him taking Mathis' money and dumpstering him. THAT is the literary James Bond.
This is what I was going to say, what brought Quantum of Solace down was the "shaky cam" style of editing, remember that era? When actions movies were shot and edited to where you couldn't tell what was going on during the action? So glad we moved past that (one theory I heard was that was to skirt stricter MPAA guidelines on violence in the wake of Columbine)Quantum of Solace would be fantastic if it was not for its brain-damaged editor.
It's called iconoclasm. Straight out of the jacobin/commie handbook. What is up with modern media and culture being absolutely obsessed with this idea that they need to kill the past? Like, we need to let go of anything "old and traditional" and totally focus on "moving on from those outdated ways"?
Imagine making a James Bond movie where you kill James Bond.
So bizarre to be living through this for modern pop culture.
Because unlike you, most people learned not to consoom "deconstrutive film that shits on an old thing #1752745" and to just pirate it instead of giving money to the libs to own them.Why...is so few talking about this?
Apparently Bond dying isn't making people talk about this so much. What gives?
Oh fuck that shit.
I'd put that down to Dalton being Bond at the wrong time more than blaming it on the fans. A snarling, darker Bond was not the way to go in the 80's, even if it was fucking fantastic to our contemporary eyes.Bond fans are fucking retards. They hated Dalton when he was one of the best Bonds.
It probably would have killed himI wonder what Sir Roger would say about this, he wasn't too shy about voicing his displeasure about Die Another Day. God knows what he'd think of this.
That scene is fun though, unlike sour dour Craig.Parasailing with the fake cgi glaciers anyone?
