Actually people generally react to knowing people who watch Barney beyond the age bracket as mentally retarded or underdeveloped people who are generally harmless, in other words they may be indifferent or even pity them a little as long as they don't harm others. I don't know many people who watch Barney IRL, if at all, in fact I stopped caring about Barney and haven't been overly exposed to it for over 20 years before you crawled into the Farms. But I think simple indifference as if it could be any show they're watching is how well adjusted people react to people who watch Barney.
