One great secret is that the leas tolerable someone is to be around the more likely they are to get manipulated due to their own quirks and how they have a gimped support group due to their intolerable nature. An ornery grandma is easier to isolate than a pleasant one with a good family support system. I think a lot of us feel worse for Alyssa than Bonnie because it is obvious that Alyssa is much, MUCH more volatile, and more ill. They're both assholes, but some of us have a bit of sympathy left over (and other kiwis don't from experience).
