I can't picture a scenario where a sane person wouldn't involuntarily recoil upon seeing this.

If I put myself in the shoes of a mentally ill, self-loathing bull dagger, I can kinda, sorta understand the appeal of traditional phallo... if it doesn't rot off, you can eventually pee standing up and penetrate your partner. Yeah, the brow ridge really gets them every time. Some women do have a bit of a brow ridge (seems more common in Northern Europeans), but it's the luck of the draw and most FtMs that I have seen don't. Prepubescent boys also usually don't have one, which is why so many of them end up looking like children. Then when they age they look permanently surprised because your brain sees the beard and male-ish figure and can't put it together with the wide eyes/flat upper face.

This is true, but I guess what I don't understand is the ones who troon out due to fanfiction or other things that have been around and accessible for longer without causing this shit. I am a mid-range millennial and girls were definitely already reading fanfiction when I was a teenager. For the most part they just read it and got on with their lives, I don't remember anyone deciding they were secretly an anime boy. And porn was almost as accessible 10 or even 15 years ago and while it was obviously just as damaging psychologically it didn't make men decide to try to become lolis.
