Nexpo/YT Horror Channels - Do they all suck

  • 🐕 I am attempting to get the site runnning as fast as possible. If you are experiencing slow page load times, please report it.
IMO the call sounds fake but I think it's a recreation of a real/similar event, made for police training
Who knows? Maybe it's like when they show soldiers photos and videos of what usually happens to the ones who thought, that surrender is an option. My friend told me, that before he was put to the assembling line at the factory they had a safety training and even they were shown what happens to the people, who decided to try their luck.

I don't think they're scary too, nor I think they're supposed to be scary. Liminality is a specific feeling on its own, the one that is arguably only humans are capable of experiencing. It's uncanny, odd, strange, weird, unnatural, irrational, thrilling, but not inherently scary.
This might be a stretch, but I think portraying it as horror is a really cheap move that bastardizes the experience itself and is sort of misleading, liminality is not fear, it's a thing on its own. Gives me similar vibes as bastardization of mental disorders through media, like those "horror" movies that portray mentally ill as a source of spooks. It's not as dangerous as stigmatizing mentally ill people, but still leaves a similar bad taste in my mouth.
Liminal spaces are pretty much the definition of uncanny valley IMO. They're not meant to be scary, they're meant to be unsettling, to stay in your head hours after you've seen it. To give you an uncomfortable feeling while you're looking at it. This is why I really like TMC, even though I'm not a Christian so can't relate to the creepy themes of Christianity, I can appreciate the suspense and uncanny vibe of it all. Because at the end of the day it doesn't matter if you've lived your entire life in a secluded Amazonian tribe or a USA suburbs, all humans are wired to react the same way to certain things, that's why whenever people try to treat liminality as horror it always misses the mark.

Still better than Nightmind's yearly SCP video. SCP is pretty pozzed and cringe these days, only topped by those bailing and trying to create their own based SCP sites/lore really too quickly. However, I still have a soft nostalgia spot for oldies or some decent picks from the 3000's+. However I just couldn't stand this one, and bailed after what felt like 10 minutes of fan fiction setting up reading Wikipedia style fan fictions.
Oh yeah, can we talk about this? The SCP thread is pretty dead from what I've seen. The new ones are so shockingly bad, my jaw was honestly on the floor seeing TES make a 7 hour long video covering what has to be the faggiest most pretentious piece of "literature" I've ever read.

Kinda disappointing, but what can you do. I've hoped that he will finally tell if it's real or not, but in the end there is still no concrete answer.
I feel like literally every single channel that does creepy content has brought up this audio at least once, so it's refreshing to see someone actually try to investigate it for once. It's also sad that despite this being a short, impromptu video Barely still puts more research into it than goes into most of Nexpo's recent stuff (i.e. he does more than just browse through a few reddit threads for info).

I'm also disappointed that he couldn't reach a conclusion, but I guess there's only so much you can do when you have such an ancient piece of audio with almost zero context about it. Personally I always thought it was fake because of how there's not a single sound coming from the Operator's side once things start going downhill. But the screaming is still haunting as fuck.

I'm wholly willing to bet it's fake. For a couple reasons: as you said the operator is suspiciously quiet during the screaming, wouldn't you expect a person to at least inquire as to what's happening? It's not like you need professional training to respond to sounds of distress. There's also 0 information about this woman, no relatives, friends, anything. She has a super generic name too which is pretty convenient, you might as well name her Jane Doe.
I know I said a couple weeks back that it's pretty autistic how every missing person's case from the 80's that has no information other than a creepy mugshot is instantly presumed to be some hoax, instead of just like, you know, a badly recorded case from the goddamn 80's. But I also specifically mentioned how the USA seems to be pretty particular about documenting these things, even in the past. I'd imagine you'd at least get an incident report, a neighbor's complaint, something. Yet the only corroborating proof this call has is a few self proclaimed ex dispatchers on reddit saying they were made to listen to it as part of their training.
I hate how people pretend as if acting isn't a thing lol. Especially voice acting of all things that doesn't require visuals, it's literally the actor's job to convince you they're feeling a certain emotion.

Edit: Also, I've rambled a lot about Selene, but this moronic creepypasta leads me to do it again.

There's a good chance this girl was never found, or was found dead. I know KiwiFarms isn't the place to moralfag, but imagine having your disappearance be remembered by the Internet as the "creepy AI generated girl".

And the morons behind Canal 5 Twitter using this girl as a viral marketing thing.

And using that video of that person who mixes her picture with a fucking cat and a minion. Classy as always, as usual for these channels. I'll take the hats.
The Florecita Dreams video he mentions is also part of an ARG. The creators exposed themselves as faggy art kids when the Selene Delgado video went viral and people started investigating the channel. They DFE'd and only reuploads exist of their videos. It's pretty tasteless/edgy I agree, especially because I don't find anything particularly uncanny about her face and there's a good chance she was never found. I think it's as simple as the Canal 5 segment was kind of disturbing and many older zoomers/millennials feel nostalgic about it.

If you were a kid in the 90's and early 00's who watched cartoons, you'd be watching Dragon Ball and the next thing you know there was a second of silence, and then a loud disembodied voice telling you about random missing people. I do remember being uncomfortable every time the segment came in instead of the usual commercial break, so I see the appeal of it as a creepypasta or ARG. The uploads of it on YouTube seem to be VHS recordings so they're more distorted than what you would actually see on TV. I guess it's peak "analog horror" but still pretty tasteless because these are/were real people.

Had the same reaction. Fuck, I miss old SCP, when you only had 5 to 6 paragraphs describing the Safe or Euclid object, with maybe one interview if it's humanoid or one exploration log if it's a location, and sometimes a twist ending. Now, every fucking SCP writer wants to make something huge, with Keter power levels (If it's not those new classifications that they of course had to make for their OC eldritch monsters) with 10 interviews, 20 exploration logs, 5 tales surrounding it, complete with connections to a bunch of other SCPs by the same author because of course they need to be a famous "author" in a creepypasta website.

I like that guy. He's into all this spooky shit but he's a swell fellow none the less. Christian, Sunday school teacher, always thanks his fans and is very gracious that people watch and support him.

I don't even like scary shit, but I find myself watching his videos pretty regularly. And he's a hunk. I'm not a faggot, but I'd guarantee probably 70% of his fans are female. He's a good looking dude. He has a confidence and a good nature that is contagious.
Just fuck already. Jesus.

I was shown a few (graphic) videos like that for the safety training at my old job so I wouldn't be surprised.

Also, are the notifications for this thread messed up for anyone else?

The new classifications are actual fucking garbage. Literally what's the point? Look at this and tell me this shit doesn't immediately scream "autist who has to categorize and list every single detail like some fucking sped." The "secondary classes" were already bad enough because most people used them as a crutch to make their entries seem more important than they really were, but at least it's forgivable because at the same time you get SCPs like 3000 which actually enhance the story with the Thaumiel classification.

This honestly feels like an attempt to make SCP more digestible for normies who can't bother reading on their own. I'm not one for gatekeeping but if you need to have every single aspect of an anomaly clearly explained to you as if you're a goddamn child just learning how to read, maybe don't bother. Literally all I can't think of when reading the new "guidelines" is tard wojak.

Isn't it pretty incredible how stupid shit like an infinite IKEA will forever be scarier than a website spanning 100,000 word file about a shuper shcary universe eating monster with 50 exploration logs and 100 addendums?

Holy shit, did they not understand the best part of the original classification system was it's simplicity?
Futhermore, they basically grabbed RCP's classes (a greek symbol for difficulty of containment plus a color for dangerousness) and made it worse! How are you meant to remember the names of these things? Or just say them? " Class Esoteric-Tiamat-Keneq-Danger"? Jesus Christ, man.

Things are scarier the more convoluted and #deep you make them, obviously

I can explain a couple of things that obviosly this clickbait assholes with 2 grade elementary school spanish miss, and I hate it because they came too late in the party (Selene Delgado was important in 2019 in mexican FB groups) but they are thirsty for views so is relevant again, first, Florecita Dreams and Selene Delgado had nothing, absolutely nothing in common, Florecita Dreams is an ARG (edgy and shitty but actually interesting because it started in early days of youtube, before the ARG extravaganzza) Selene Delgado was a real missing person, but also a serious case that was probably never solved (or maybe it was) but thanks to the missinformation of a video of Florecita Dreams, about Selene Delgado being an AI, etc. both things gained notoriety, but they are not the same thing at all.
Delgado is an extremely common last name in Mexico, and Selene is even a more common name in females, I can bet there´s hundreds of women with the same name and last name, Selene could even be found in the 2000´s and maybe nobody knew it, but this retards probably think on the evil spoopy IA story and probably believed that only 1 Selene Delgado exists in all the fucking world, also, a little Off-topic anecdote, a poor middle age Lady named Selene Delgado in Facebook was spammed for the creepy fans autistic army and almost ended deleting all his social media

Almost everything terrible about NuSCP can be traced back to DJ Kaktus

Wasn't djkaktus also the one who sperged on the SCP subreddit about gender politics or whatever?

Confirm my theory guys, this is dogshit right?
Because all the later entries have sucked, hard.
Like it was a simple fun concept and they massacred it.
Complete dogshit, I haven't watched beyond part 1 and I sure as hell won't subject myself to 6 more hours of it. Project Palisade was pretentious enough, but this is on a whole other level.

Palisade was some gay ass shit.
I could make up an SCSneed foundation with a buckbroken god scarier than that.

I used to read a little scp back in 2013 when creepypasta was a big thing and completely forgot about it until 5 months ago and it boggles my mind how the hp lovecraft concept of fear of the unknown is completely lost on people
