In my school system, the (primary/elementary) school wouldn't let you use pens until you learned to do "joined" handwriting. Problem students used to get forced into extra classes before school opened where they were forced to join every non-capital letter in their words (including Gs, Qs. Ys, etc.). Without fail, everyone who came out of that class ended up writing illegible garbage, and had to unlearn those "lessons" over the next few years to get back to something humans could read. Poor bastards

Oh shit, you just made me remember that the English teacher in middle school that taught cursive, didn't even teach cursive! He taught people how to "floof write", which yeah is just connecting printed letters instead of cursive ones. I'm starting to think my teachers may have been morons.

I feel like the likelihood of someone being anti-rittenhouse if they wear a mask is massively higher. The defense would’ve been smart to find unvaccinated people, because they’re an extremely right wing group of people in general. In VA, Youngkin and the republicans won that group by 78 points, so they’re very likely to be exactly the demographic you want on the jury. It also would’ve scared the shit out of Karens to know unvaccinated people were on the jury.

I dropped off following the thread around the first day of deliberation. Is the leading theory on why it's taking so long still that juror #54 is some kind of partisan liberal white woman holding up the trial? Or has anything else emerged?

So far each deliberation day was more ridiculous than the last, so I'm expecting some proper violence to break out. Either protestors or possibly even an assualt on the courthouse/jurors.

Agreed, but I was specifically referring to comments like "Oh yeah, I remember when Half Life came out, best 15th birthday a kid could have". Usually not that specific, but specific enough to realize they're a good decade or two my senior.

I learned cursive in the first grade. My hand writing is actually impeccable. I’m a zoomer.

I also only attended private schools for the bulk of my life.

I will never, ever send my child to the cesspit that is public schools.

Bonus tip: if you have a kid that struggles with their penmanship, take them to the monkey bars at the playground. It actually helps, so I’ve been told.
