It looks like Ian has an absolute dump truck of an ass in the thumbnail of the latest Forgotten Weapons video. He must be doing squats.

I remember there was a video at some shoot where Ian was walking with a kettle bell next to Karl, and someone ran up and smacked him in the ass. I tried to find it, but couldn't unfortunately.

Just Karl spergs being Karl spergs. The dude is probably just as knowledgeable on RPG's as Ian, (If not more so than Ian) otherwise he wouldn't be in that line of work.

Ian has a very confident demeanor when he talks to people, the commenters on youtube with room temperature IQ's usually interpret that as him being condescending or patronizing.

I agree. Ian has been making vids for years. The only people I imagine he’d get nervous talking to are Stoner or Kalashnikov if he was able to interview them.

Karl's stans are salty & autistic; it doesn't surprise me they'd totally missread normal social cues, along with expecting/projecting the edgy snark they're used to seeing.

Those two were trying desperately not to trigger YouTube & the ATF's algorithms, if anything.

I think you got this wrong. There’s a segment of Ian’s audience that is poorly socialized and puts him on a pedestal. They’re the same people that get mad if someone interrupts him on video or if someone disagrees with his opinion. So of course he must be talking down to the inferior company rep because he is all knowing in all things. It can’t just be banter between normal people.

Thanks for reaching out Russ. I literally was just thinking to myself “People really put Ian on a pedestal don’t they?” Right before I checked the thread here. You’re completely right. Some people really take that Gun Jesus thing too far. They literally think Ian knows everything and that there’s no way he can have a normal conversation with someone that isn’t Karl or you.
Sadly this is the case for many Internet personalities that have any sort of large following.

Yeah I could see people not understanding the contextual difference between wandering past a trade show booth with stupid shit displayed to the world and trolling ignorant/oblivious reps and scheduling to meet a company rep to fire off destructive devices, or attending a live fire demo for government contractors. There might just be a slight difference in professionalism between talking to Mossberg about their Chainsaw pump and someone that makes rocket propelled grenades for the government.

Also those ice cream machines are actually pretty good, the issue is that they're an absolute bitch and a half to clean. It's easier to lie and say the machine is broken since people swallow that excuse without question than to take the machine and add even more work to closing on a busy day, or to take a freshly cleaned machine and dirty it for a slow day.

Another thing about forward assists, I after having used a certain .22 in my collection for hunting squirrels that had a bad habit of not picking up the first round when loading with the bolt handle, I got paranoid about brass checking on all my guns. My AR loads fine, but when I brass check it, it won’t be in battery any more and hitting the forward assist is much easier and comfortable than putting my thumb in the dished cut in the bolt. Also both of my ARs have the A1 teardrop style buttons if that means anything to anyone

The truly patrician choice. In my absence, I am truly and utterly disappointed to find out there was a whole discussion of forward assists without me being in it. Also, a big reminder that extensive testing for the forward assist has been done, should render the whole argument moot. I'm sure Karl would still bumble his way like how the "Army forced it."

On another note, I forgot that Forgotten Weapons fans had bleed over from InRangeTV. The whole comment section is full of people making fun of the dude showing the rocket launcher to Ian. The dude is being polite to Ian and they think Ian is subtly making fun of him. They’re using the time stamp as an example of Ian making fun of the dude when Ian is probably just putting that there to skip to the shooting because it’s a fucking RPG.

Idk, it’s just annoying to see people acting so uppity.

And people genuinely do not understand the armament and defense contracting industry. People are mocking the Americanski RPG as if it's just a spur of nationalism, because there's perfectly serviceable tubes and rockets all over the world. Guess people don't think ITAR and the laws regarding defense acquisitions are a thing.

Thankfully, I broke that habit and quit that game.

The game becomes unplayable at higher tiers. After a lot of grind I got my first jets, and kept playing without caring for the repair costs until I noticed I lost all my SL. The free repair at that point was 8-9 days worth of waiting. Fuck Gaijin. Even though I had fun at lower tiers I got so pissed off I just switched to DCS.

Sadly, Gaijin can't even keep their fucking fingers out of lower-tiers. For prop planes. They fucked with BRs instead of fixing the core issues with the aircraft. P-47N having a minimum fuel load 16 minutes longer than the match timer, and they question why the P-47D-28 that can carry around 20 minutes of fuel performs better in the Climb Thunder meta.

Let's not forget that the F-4E and how general Radar mechanics like ground clutter are absolutely bastardized.
