Phil reads enough on here to know that any major change to his lifestyle being forced upon him, no matter what it is, we would enjoy watching it happen, and so we can expect him to feel unstoppable as long as nothing like that happens. Which, thus far, it hasn't. Yes, he's stuck with a pack of tards forever. Yes, his options besides streaming until the day he dies are nonexistent, so it doesn't matter if he feels like he "wins" if he dies streaming, because we know he doesn't actually want that. He'll accept it before he'll accept doing anything else for a living because streaming is a dead-end for him, but he doesn't want it. He just happens to also be too lazy, stubborn, and egotistical to do anything about his desire to quit streaming, other than just keep doing what he's doing and wish for something miraculous to happen.
But because he prefers to keeping going and wish for the best, ignoring how stupid that is, Phil can declare himself to have survived, thus far, and also ignore anything that may be on the horizon to force a lifestyle change on him. Thing is, there is plenty that can happen, and is likely to. He's just begging to need a liver transplant one day, for example, and he doesn't have the money for that. He could trip and fall down the stairs and be in the hospital for awhile. And that's just the stuff that I could suggest that won't get me rainbows. There's also Kat divorcing him, his mom finally cutting him off, getting hit with that CT condo deficiency, losing a whale, getting banned from YT, the list is pretty much endless in terms of things that would change his life forever.
And regardless of anything, Phil never recovers from jack fucking shit. He admits YT doesn't pay him as much as Twitch did, the paypigs are holding out on him, and there is no sight of even the possibility of growth in the future. The only thing he manages to do is continue being a presence on the internet, and look how much that has fucked his life up. Look at how stupid you have to be to persist on the web when you have so much telling you to fucking quit. FFS, Lindsay Ellis, who's not exactly a bright pleasant person herself, finally learned her lesson and is probably going to be better off for quitting. For Phil to look at her wise move and think that she "lost" is just bonkers.
I'm not a believer in any deity, but there's definitely such a thing as signs from life itself that what you want isn't healthy, and people like Phil never learn that. Fuck the trolls who will celebrate your departure. What matters is whether your quality of life improves if you stop. Maybe his war with us is just as much of an addiction for him as gacha and booze are...
