I'm also questioning if long Covid is even real. I don't know anyone who has had it (and many of my friends have had Covid by now).

I wish I could share your optimism. I just saw this: boosters mandate and school mandate In blue states nothing will stop the insanity, I am afraid.

LA Unified School District tried to mandate vaccines. So many families refused that they've pushed the mandate back a year - and I expect they'll never actually enforce it. People will take risks with their own health but they're more careful with their kids.

The level of cases is going exponential and it matches the development in 2020. Except at this point of the year there were about 25+ deaths per day or so.

One interesting thing I've noticed is that the average person is not keeping up to date on all the changes and rules. I keep my irl conversations very neutral and chill and I hear a lot of responses like "If everyone would just get vaccinated this would be over", and "I'm vaccinated, I can't get Covid", and "I have Covid! I'm so lucky the symptoms are mild and I'm not having to go to the hospital!" (As opposed to my initial risk analysis which said that it would be surprising if anyone young and healthy *did* go to the hospital.)

People aren't tracking this at the autistic level of detail we are. Heck, I bet a lot of them don't know that non-nurses are in danger of loosing their jobs unless it affects them or their family.

I wouldnt describe this being on the autistic level. More like people that pay attention to details and arent tunnel visioned into cherry picking details that support their fear porn induced visions of reality.

We are simply what our founding fathers would have wanted. Its people that are sheep and run on the "the government/media would never lie to me for their own benefit!", as ludicrous as that statement is.

I always did wonder why, if the official story is true, the hijackers attacked the Pentagon and not Congress. It would be far more terrifying to people if their elected representatives were attacked by terrorists, not military members who on some level recognize that their job involves the potential for death or injury.

That was always fishy for me and at this point, I wouldnt be surprised if this was all staged. I have reached this point where I already assume all conspiracy theories have at least a hint of truth to them, this one isnt an exception.

There’s currently 446 cases of the ‘ronies in Tokyo. On the news just now, the government announced free PCR testing nationwide, and they FINALLY SAID THE UNMENTIONABLE OUT LOUD—that the coronavirus appears to be no more dangerous than the flu. You better believe I’m going to link that article once it comes out.

People are not getting tested (5000 a day in a city of 14 million) and no one is dying. The vaccination place near where I work is empty. The tv presentation got complex, but Mrs. Pete says the purpose of the free PCR tests are to get numbers on who is actually infected to “prove’ that it is just the flu.

I’m gonna back all this shit up with articles as soon as I can get them. I can confirm the free testing personally, because I can understand those words and read those moon runes. The numbers are easily confirmable. The only thing I cannot personally confirm at this time is the reasoning for the free tests, but Mrs. Pete is an interpreter and this is her thing.

I guess leave it to the Japanese to combat the Chinese narrative.

There seems to be a complete disconnect between competing narratives
- people with little to no symptoms are rushing to the ER and causing chaos because muh omicron
- hotels and restaurants are reporting a lot of cancellations for new year's eve but hope for last minute reservations
- some experts are saying it can't be stopped and it's more similar to the common cold
- the isolation period is being revised to 5 days
- however mandatory testing is still required to attend those events
- Leana Wen said the regular cloth masks don't work
Someone is pulling the rug from underneath the others and I can't even tell who is doing the pulling and who is getting the rug pulled from under them.

I hung out with some vaxxies yesterday and they still love it. The government basically implemented lockdown lite and they were gleefully chatting about their upcoming boosters. They were still disappointed about the new restrictions, but they didn't draw a line between new lockdowns and vaccine efficacy.

I remember when I read an article that was supposed to be scary, and it said FORTY million Americans tangentially knew someone that died of COVID.

This sounds like a big number, until you realize that there are 330 million Americans.

So even if the number is true (I don't think it is, but Devil's Advocate here), 40/330 = 12%. That means SEVEN out of EIGHT Americans did not know anyone that died from COVID. But 40 million sounds scary.

As an aside, I feel awful for people under 25. Not only have they had their lives destroyed and been made to feel guilty about it "to save grandma", but these people are probably going to be scared of viruses for the rest of their lives. For the next decade for sure.

Australia is building a Moderna factory to produce vaccine that opens in 2024.
