I grew up watching my grandfather yell at the people on the TV news. My grandmother would shout at him to calm down "They can't hear you, they'll never hear you!". 30 years later and now they can hear us, and they are incapable of listening.

I'd never actually thought about it like that.

For some reason I always just sorta saw the MSM as some sort of thoughtless animal that does what it can to survive without looking to it's past of future in any way. But they are really more akin to some sort of bubble-boy suit wearer. They built themselves the bubble, and then stayed in it long enough that they can no longer exist without it.
New anchors and pundits show up every few months and they are told to get in the bubble because its what has 'worked' for everyone before. They gimp themselves because they'd rather just continue tradition than evolve past them.

Slow as in if you merge a double post in it it takes 5 minutes bro. In this thread if I merge it with another or copy a post it takes seconds. In a 4100 page thread it can take literally 10 minutes.

After an explanation and clarification it makes sense, but do you not agree that the wording is very easily misinterpreted? 99% of the time when users talk about a “slow thread” they mean that it gets very little traffic, because we humble end-users never have to deal with the consequences of a 4000-page thread lagging the mod tools.
