One line was really strong (not sure if exact, paraphrasing): It's easy to feel like a winner in a game only you know you're playing. (Refering to Sam saying everything with a hint of irony). I think it summarizes him and guys like him pretty well. Not sure how I feel about the whole video but I liked this bit.
I thought this one of Idubbbz’ more introspective points that he made but, as with most things, I think he misinterpreted his own message.
Sam Hyde does not strike me as a particularly conflicted individual. This man is doing what he wants and it seems almost incidental if other people gravitate towards it as well. Granted, enough do that he seems to be making a living, but “pandering” is not a word I would attribute to Sam Hyde and his antics.
Which is totally antithetical to what Idubbbz is doing. He is desperately trying to maintain some image or perception that moves him further away from the edgy little nigger faggot of old. He seems a little off-put that someone just doesn’t give a fuck about that perception or about how others view him.
Sam Hyde is playing his own game, appears to be winning at it, and Idubbbz doesn’t like that. It doesn’t fit his world view.

Pretty much this,

Hyde is a trust fund dude doing what he wants, he doesn't expertly craft a persona for maximum clicks or revenue he's just a weird ass dude.

It's like Bruce Wayne/Batman Clark Kent/Superman.

Hyde is superman, that's his natural state. It's possible for him to be a Clark Kent but his original personality is superman he doesn't have to try to be Superman that's who he is.

Idubbbz is like Bruce Wayne, he has to become batman it's not who he was born as, he has to work towards that persona where it comes naturally to Hyde.

Holy fuck, you can tell by Nick's facial expressions he didn't know about Dani and he visibly takes a second to read the situation not knowing what Sam is actually doing and you can see him process it and then give up.

Yes but if they're too ignorant to check the exposure, they might also be too ignorant to fix the exposure in post. Benefit of the doubt tho. They clearly looked at it and said "this is fine". That much I am sure of.
Benefit of the doubt? Ian does most of, if not all, of the editing himself and is very careful about details. Part of his success is in his editing skills. He’s not just going to pass off some poorly exposed scene as is, assuming he even accidentally exposes the scene improperly (something that’s hard to do with modern cameras; you have to manually force the camera to expose incorrectly).

It’s really laughable that it would be an accident, especially when there’s no other scenes with this kind of look. The overall look of the scene also looks flat, not with phased color like an underexposed image, but like it was digitally darkened in an editor without exposure compensation (essentially algorithms that mimic the color shifting that happens when you under or over expose).

Remember when he worked with Filthy Frank? Remember when this guy was head of norm-breaking comedy? He might not have been the best but if you go back a decade he has some decent stuff and was one of the introductions to a whole generations edgy humor. Now he is just a moralfaggot. Since 2015 he has slowly become the embodiment of degradation fetish gone wrong, living in a cuck shed and shit like that. This is the power pussy has over a weak man.

So remember that part in the documentary when idubbz said that Sam "donated 5k to the Daily Stormer"? Yeah, that's not exactly right. Sam donated to their defense fund when they got sued by the Southern Poverty Law Center. Pretty fucking slimy.

The screencap is literally from the story about them getting sued and raising money.

I think you are vastly overestimating my respect for his editing skills. You may look at it like its good for youtube, but youtube in general is pretty bad at the technical aspects of film making. Even something like Corridor digital just looks like some bullshit to me.

People who think they know what they're doing can completely fuck up a manual setting. If they're using automatic mode on their expensive mirrorless cameras then they're hacks, yeah?

If its intentional, it looks like its incompetent. Or, it's so incompetent it looks intentional.
The end result is it still looks bad. It's so dark that you can't even see Sam. It doesn't make any sense unless Ian is trying to do this thing where it looks like Sam is cornering Ian and intimidating him which is hilarious to me, because it totally does look like Sam was putting him in that position in Sam's video.

Sam's phone camera overexposes the scene, as you can see by looking at the exit light and the giant bright spot coming from the lamp.
It's a lower light environment, but it should be bright enough for you to see Sam because he's also a bright spot.
By all rights they should have the same exposure level, and it would be ridiculous to not set both cameras at the same setting.
I agree that its probably intentional, but it's done so bad it makes me think "maybe they just suck at making videos."

Sam's composition is effortlessly genius here, meta-unironically.

Ironically, the lighting would have come out nicer if the divider was directly in front of the light.

The process of "dude is everything alright" to "oh, it's Sam" to "ah, it's you"

The true irony is that Idubbz is right about Sam Hyde. Let's not mince meat. He's right wing as fuck and always has been. He probably is a WigNat or Nazi to some extent and is clearly riding the line as hard as Dani does them. He's "one of us" and all the memes surrounding him may not reflect his real life but they probably do reflect his politics much more than optics cucks will ever be willing to admit.

the one piece of good insight in the whole video imo
whole idubbbz doc comes off as a pretty good depiction of how sam wants to be portrayed. this unknowable "meta-ironic" force of nature that cannot be stopped and will do whatever for the sake of humor/his own entertainment. it's very flattering, and whether idubbbz liked the final product or not, he did a good job portraying the man behind sam hyde. in trying to deconstruct sam, it actually did a really good job of portraying what he's all about. it's up to the viewer to make up their own minds. truely the mgs2 of youtube exposed videos

Please correct me if I'm wrong, and I'll admit that I don't know Sam at all because I've never watched his stuff but, it seems like him getting annoyed at 8:58 with Idubbz telling him to be clear when he's being serious isn't a bit. Is this something Sam would do as a joke? It seems like Ian got part of what he wanted, getting to know Sam, and then proceeded to shit on it.

I'm dead serious. The man was buddies with Weev for God's sake and he openly considers black people subhuman. If you seriously think he's not a wignat you either haven't seen enough of his content or you haven't been around long enough.
this almost made me think that sam hyde is hardcore and based
then i remembered that he's actually just a cringy internet clown and the most based thing about him is that he makes edgy jokes sometimes

He was mad that Ian suggested saying 100% serious before saying something true because it's stupid.
If you're not autistic you can tell or guess.

Imagine if a comedian doing a stand up routine had to tell the audience when he's 100% real/not real. It doesn't make that much sense.

Am I retarded? What's the difference here? Could you elaborate on this for me? What necessity is there to the additional context that doesn't end with the exact same conclusion that Sam Hyde financially supported them?

what are you fucking autistic do you need like a fucking picture book of people's emotions to tell when is somebody angry or when somebody is retarded you fucking faggot

Donating to help someone fight a frivolous lawsuit doesn't mean you agree with every little thing they say.
