More like paralyzed by the inability to afford traveling to where they can get a job. The urban areas are traps they cannot afford to leave, the rural areas require ownership of a car, used car prices have gone through the roof.

Also remember, we currently live in a time where you will draw open hatred from literally anyone for having the drive for self improvement. Any attempt to pull yourself out of the hole is met with more local resistance than anything else. The whole “family is willing to give you a fair shot“ deal died when the boomers were born. Now it is a matter of which relative is willing to screw you over the least when it comes to favors.

If things were just internet stuff then it would be an issue. The internet stuff is a symptom because what else can they do that isn’t criminal?
Sounds like you need better people around you. My family is pretty dysfunctional and none of them have tried to screw me over as I surpassed them.

Can we invade Canada instead?
Now they know how us superior Americans feel when they chime in on our politics. How many BLM donations came from Leafs? Eat shit, Trudeau.

Just watched Braveheart for the first time in years. Here's the thing with demoralized men, it only takes 1 man to inspire morale in men who would otherwise be useless. Yeah, with vidya and porn and fast food you can string along people, especially if you add drugs. But the bread and circus' aren't infinite. The breads running out and the circus' are getting destroyed for ideological reasons. When you don't have anything to lose it makes it very easy to do some extreme things.

That's most likely the root of the hysterics and fear of Trump that's rational. He's the wrong guy for all the ire but they are genuinely afraid of a populist getting the masses behind themselves because that can get violent very quick.
Was going to say basically this. Here's another way of looking at it. There's a book called Human Competence which is a kind of bible in the human resources field. Basically, the case that it makes is that the best way to improve results within an organization is to find the largest potential for improvement in employees and then realize that potential.

Many companies don't do this, even though they think they're maximizing people's performance. For example, would you rather set up a program to improve the performance of the top 5% of your employees by 10%, or a program to improve the performance of the bottom 80% of your employees by 5%? The second plan would probably have a much greater actual positive impact on the company, but many executives would rather focus on making the best perform better than improving baseline employee performance a little bit because they see the latter as not worth bothering with.

If there are many despondent men in your society that represents a huge potential for improvement. If you could get all of them to just perform 5-10% better than they are - and to find a common cause in the process of improvement supporting a political movement you lead - you now wield a tremendous force for social change. Many people who are despondent can quickly flip over into fanaticism when the find something they find worth believing in after living a life starved of meaning.

The redeemed when given a purpose are often the most zealous and fervent.

Once in a 'debate' class we had the Death Penalty debate, and my tactic was just describing the Toy Box Killer's crimes, as he was in our state of New Mexico.
That really shut down the white art hoes who took the anti-death penalty side.
that was my favorite part of gawker, every death penalty "victim" they'd write in depth about their crimes and then the comment section would be every variation of "I'm not pro-death penalty but in this case its justified" Liberals are such fucking retards they just assume the states killing people for weed, when the Toy Box Killler is usually the bar you have to clear.
This isn't 2001 anymore. You can't start a bloody pointless war unprovoked and get an instantly +15 to your approval rating.

Fuckin boomers man.
even then they needed to destroy a famous landmark and kill off 3k people in front of an audience of tens of millions for it to really compel people.

Just last week, there was a drumbeat in the media about how Pfizer was going to get FDA EUA to give the jab to kids as young as 6 months. Note, the COVID mortality rate for young children is 0.008%. There's absolutely zero reason to jab them, especially with a "vaccine" that doesn't grant immunity.

The media fervor has died down since enthusiasm for COVID-mania has waned, but the Biden admin and their (extremely evil) COVID team is 100% sure it's getting approved. They've already given Pfizer another shitload of your tax dollars to buy enough jabs for every less than 5 year old child (they actually bragged they did this) and is packing up the baby jabs to release on.... president's day.

What better way to celebrate president's day than having an authoritarian asshole insist you get an unnecessary experimental shot for your infant? SPOILER ALERT: it's not that popular. (see figure 5)

Eat shit and die, Joe.

ETA: archive of Biden admin's victory lap article on jabbing infants, in case they memory hole it if/when the shit hits the fan.

Self-quoting, but we got an update today:
The FDA has delayed their decision on EUAs for COVID jabs for kids under 5. Victory for common sense, right? LOL fucking wrong. Their study came back with mixed results on kids in the 2-4 yr range. The solution? They now want to give your infant or toddler 3 jabs instead of 2. You can rest assured they'll make the data work for 50% increased profit.

Un-fucking-believable.

Maybe as a flyover state American I have different sensibilities but in four years of bad orange man I never heard Trump say anything more controversial or egregious than my buddies said as edgy shits in high school or at the pub in modern day.

Do coastal types really head for the fainting couches and get the vapors if someone makes an off color remark or joke?

No, but they needed to have constant outrage to try to dampen any support the Bad Orange Man had - no matter how ludicrous the "scandal." It was about power, plain and simple.

Journos mad that Biden and his staffers are heading to Camp David to sniff more young girls instead of giving them rimjobs like they, the true defenders of democracy, deserve!

Sorry, journos, Biden has a D next to his name, so this time, you can't complain! The consequences of your own actions rear their ugly head yet again!

No. Coastal types simply consider themselves to be entitled to have people who talk like them run the government.

I thought human resources was just about sending out all.employes@company.com emails about Pride Month.

Yes. I had a whole argument with a coastie about Trump using the name China virus. His position was that it was unprofessional because COVID had a scientific name, and that complaints about racism and Dem encouragement to go out and hug Chinese people was a result of him using that term and not in fact his halting of travel from China.

CNN Poll: Biden Disapproval Rating Nearing 60%

(article)
The latest CNN poll conducted by SSRS from Jan. 10 to Feb. 6 showed President Joe Biden's disapproval rating reaching a staggering 58% among U.S. adults, according to results released on Thursday.

Only 41% of respondents approved of his performance. The same poll had Biden's approval at 49% and disapproval at 51% in December.

Among independents, 36% approved of Biden's job performance. For Republicans, that number was at 9%. Democratic approval for the president dropped from 94% last summer to 83% in the latest survey.

Disapprovers of the president were also asked to name a single thing he has done that they approved of. A shocking 56% said they have nothing positive to say about his term.

"I'm hard-pressed to think of a single thing he has done that benefits the country," wrote one survey respondent.

The CNN-SSRS survey is the latest in a continuing trend of Biden's plummeting approval rating.

The last time Biden's average approval rating was above water, according to FiveThirtyEight, was on Aug. 29, 2021, in the middle of the controversial U.S. withdrawal from Afghanistan.

Since then, concerns over inflation, handling of COVID-19, and further foreign policy complications have resulted in Biden's average approval reaching the lowest of his presidency on Feb. 10.

FiveThirtyEight further showed Biden's average disapproval peaking near 54% on Jan. 25, which has since plateaued as his approval rating continues to drop.

The poll surveyed 1,527 U.S. adults over one month digitally or by telephone with a live interviewer. It has a margin of error of plus or minus 3.3%.
