If there's one genre modern Phil really shouldn't be playing if he really wants to rebrand, it's ironically fighting games, the genre he built his initial reputation on. His current way of handling games just doesn't work with them.
Phil relies on someone finding an exploit and copying it until credits for any kind of challenge that uses reflex or just has chat tell him what to do for anything he can drag his heels over. FGs are designed in such a way that there is no singular way to break the game, with obvious attempts to ensure a more balanced experience where even the worst characters have a chance to win (as seen with tekken player Rangchu or sf's Mono) and FGs don't allow for dragging one's heels mid match so chat can't help him. This forces Phil to fight in a situation that makes him have to think on the spot, which he simply cannot do.
Phil's need for a cheap move to even try to play makes him predicable, with him struggling with even derich level intellects. From mashing out the same combos in MVC (to the point that he has fuck all situational awareness with him trying to mash a super he didn't have meter for) to relying on singular attacks (like Paul's PS or Bob's "Giga Jacker) and his complete lack of any experimentation outside of the one combo or attack he learns, if he even bothers to remember it (before he first went online he had been practicing a Paul combo but when he go online he went "Phoenix Smasher go brrrrrrr"). And this is the genre his entire "career" has been built on, his cred as a gamer comes from his past in the old FGC, a past that most people will only know the one highlight of outside of the one clip of being called a piece of shit.
Because he staked his pride to the genre, and his constant need to be better than everyone, he has never truly been able to take any losses gracefully outside of maybe Rambo (though Phil is such a pussy that he can only talk shit when he knows no one can clap back he knew not to be salty around one of his "useful idiots" and was seething the entire time). Phil has shown repeatedly that his excuses are as instinctual as they are utter bullshit. He is constantly contradicted by games thanks to most having "counter" coming up and frame delay counters pointing out his lag claims are just copium. The greatest proof was him blaming LAG when he was playing an offline bot in his precious super turbo. Phil doesn't play games for fun, he plays to "beat" them.
The only other genre that comes close to generating the amount of salt from him are racing games, namely that don't have a rewind feature (like NFS or CTR) as the same issues can be applied. No way to drag his heels to be guided by chat and they rely on reflexes and skill, things Phil will never have.
