The ethically questionable approach is just to give them bare minimum training, and then put them in the riskiest positions. If they die, you blame Russia and try to squeeze some more money and weapons out of the US / Europe, using "they are killing your citizens!" as justification.
idk in this example the potential spy will know where recruits are being trained at, and you've armed them and they're embedded within your forces near the front. there's already an example in the thread of a supposed redditor causing an operational security failure and that wasn't even intentional sabotage. maybe western intelligence is helping to vet them.

Anyone stupid enough to believe fighting for Ukraine right now is bashing Fascism also very likely lacks the cognitive and financial resources to actually get to Ukraine and get a weapon.

"Don't forget your mask, we're still in a pandemic!" shows that these people don't even understand what genuine conflict is.
"Colonel the ruskies blew my jaw off to hell with a shell, surgically attach my mask so I don't catch covid please"

I have 2000 hours in tf2 and I main pyro. If they give me a flame thrower those ruskies are toast.
I am medic, I will uber or krit you.
Spy main here. I'm giddy at the thought of finally getting to turn invisible.
I wonder which invis watch they'll give me...

I assume absolutely none of this is genuine and anyone making posts is trolling or doing the most basic of virtue signaling, but I would like to add that most countries will charge its citizens with a crime and probably will not repatriate you if you leave to fight in a foreign war as a soldier of fortune. Here are a handful of relevant laws.
United States:
Canada:
Germany:
United Kingdom:
You can probably find more with key words like "foreign enlistment".

As previously noted in the thread, mercenaries have no right to combatant status and will not be held as prisoners of war - this is not just Russia's decision but is part of the Geneva conventions of war.

In short, if you go overseas to go kill soldiers of a country your country is at peace with, don't expect to come back.
In regards to America it's largely unenforced. I have a high school friend who joined the French Foreign Legion. He served a few years and has returned to America.
Pretty sure this shit isn't enforced in the UK either. Countless jihadis are welcomed back and given free housing + welfare.
Just remember to pack some shoepolish for your return trip.

This subreddit is truly the gift that keeps on giving.

Can I bring my pet turtle to the active conflict zone? I promise he won't cause issues.

Will the Ukrainian government refill my prescription for HRT medication, or should I bring my own?

I have an acquantence doing this. He's always been one of the craziest people I know but he is also a very good person. He loves guns (I think he posts on /k/) and is an EMT. He has always had a very doomsday prepper attitude, predicted a worldwide pandemic was coming for years before covid, etc.

Everyone doing this is fucking insane, but they aren't all trannies and retards, some of them are cool. But those ones aren't on reddit

It's amazing how well this propaganda is working on them.
Scary even. I thought people my age have largely grown up with a cynical attitude to war due to Iraq and Afghanistan. After 20 long, pointless, misguided years of 'nation' building that ended in disgrace. Not even a year later people are treating war like its the year 1914 and everyone is excited to kick some german ass and then come home by Chrismas a hero. For fuck sakes have we learned this LITTLE from history!
