Star Wars Griefing Thread (SPOILERS) - Safety off

I'm less surprised by this development and more surprised that THIS is what's making people in the StarWarsLeaks subreddit finally go "No, this is too much. Mando's ruined."
The droid will house Grogu in his chest, which is reinforced by beskar, and will speak to our little green friend in a way similar to the AI Jarvis that Tony Stark used in Marvel’s Iron Man movies and gives him data, tells him probability of success, and his assessment of a situation. Grogu will supposedly give commands inside of the droid, and takes out a bunch of Stormtroopers.
"OHMYGOSH its just like my SW x Marvel fanfiction! Patton Oswalt's crossover is confirmed!"

I can already sense MovieBob's disgusting orgasmic squeals even as I type this.

Can I just say that the grand inquisitor looks god damn awful?

1646969882687.png1646969957093.png

Worst part is that he was one of the few good things from Rebels. The head, the tattoos, the fucking eyes. All wrong! He looks worse than Cad Bane in Book of Boba Less

And he had a cool theme in the show

George and I part company on a few things when it comes to Star Wars, but we agree on the important things.

Funny thing is, her design oddly makes sense for SW's setting.

its not skimpy for the sake of it, its because armor is rather irrelevant against a lightsaber (and anti-lightsaber materials are extremely rare and arent the type you can make a proper defensive wearing out of) so you might as well focus on your agility and make sure you strike first.

Also female villains always have the best tits, ngl. The dark side just give you the best bust :cunningpepe:
Fucking cursed.

Begun, the reaction wars have.

Give him a small credit, he isnt crying (yet)
Well the black Imperial will either turn and die saving Obi-Wan (probably from Maul) or turn and fuck off only to be added into new and existing material.

Please, I legit hope Maul doesnt appear in this. Mostly because it would ruin their final meeting and one of the legit good scenes from Rebels.

Their final encounter is suppose to invoke a sense of finality for both characters. Maul is broken by his lonely drive for revenge and Obi-wan was just putting him out of his misery. Obi-wan beat him so easily because he had ascended from a warrior waving a plasma sword around and into an enlightened hermit just waiting for the time to play his part in the "real" chosen one's journey. Killing Maul was concluding that loose end from his past.
I’m just happy to have Ewan back, controversial take but the acting in Phantom is one of the few things the film doesn’t fuck up. Many people go on about how Qui Gon Jin and Obi’s performances are so robotic and stilted, but no that was actually a decision made by the casting directors, they were just asked to give very stern and low key performance to give the Jedi an air of seriousness. They’re clearly good actors but they just given weak material and asked to give very, very restrained acting in these films against their wishes. It’s a real shame, now that that’s over I hope Ewan can really shine and give us the trie Obi Wan performance we’ve been waiting 2 decades for.

To be fair, Obi-wan in Ep 1 did have his moments of levity but it was mostly Qui-Gon and Kid Anakin's story. It becomes Obi-wan and Anakin's Ep 2 onward

Dat face...

Holy Sith! Exclusive first look at Darth Vader in Obi-Wan Kenobi

Archive

We already showed you the exclusive first look images of Ewan McGregor's return as the cloaked Jedi Master in Obi-Wan Kenobi (premiering May 25 on Disney+). Those images also included the return of Joel Edgerton as Uncle Owen, as well as a formidable new foe in the form of a force-sensitive Inquisitor named Reva (played by The Queens Gambit's Moses Ingram).

But McGregor and Edgerton are not the only actors returning to the Star Wars franchise for the new series — and Reva and the Grand Inquisitor (seen in the recently released trailer) are not the only imperial villains on the hunt. Cue some labored mechanical breathing noises because the Dark Lord of the Sith himself is back, and we've got your exclusive first look at the return of Darth Vader.

Also back is the man under the helmet, Hayden Christensen, who transformed from Jedi Padawan Anakin Skywalker to the dark side villain in the Star Wars prequel films Attack of the Clones and Revenge of the Sith. Much like McGregor, it was a 17-year journey to get Christensen back in black to play one of the most iconic figures in the history of pop culture — a journey that is chronicled in EW's cover story on the new Disney+ series.

In our exclusive image above, we see Vader appearing to emerge from his meditation chamber, which begs the question: Since the meditation chamber allows the Sith Lord to remove his helmet (as seen in The Empire Strikes Backwhen poor Admiral Piett briefly admires the back of Vader's scarred head before the helmet is lowered over it), might this mean we will catch a glimpse of Vader sans mask in Obi-Wan Kenobi?

"I wish I could tell you," Christensen tells EW with a coy smile on his face. "I'm sworn to secrecy."

As for the kind of Dark Lord we'll see in the series that helps fill in the gap of time between Revenge of the Sith and A New Hope, Christensen is more straightforward: "We're going to see a very powerful Vader," promises the actor.

While it sounds like there is a chance we may see Vader unmasked, how much Vader in general will we actually see on the show?

"His shadow is cast across so much of what we do," series writer Joby Harold teases. "And the degree of his proximity to that shadow is something that we'll discover. But he is very much a part of the show emotionally for Obi-Wan, and possibly beyond that as well."

Obi-Wan Kenobi premieres May 25 on Disney+.

At least Hayden is getting a good paycheck for this mess.

Mike's tweet on Star Trek Picard works pretty well for Mando and any of Dave's other projects nowadays:

As for Obi-Wan? Well no shit; it's gonna suck and its main purpose will be to tear down another Lucas character to reaffirm the hack-frauds' delusions about their own skill.

Nah I'll just stick with Hayden as Darth Vader in Revenge of the Sith.
His inclusion in this series might have actually been a surprise if they hadn't made a movie masturbating to the return of Darth Vader 6 years ago. And no offense to James Earl Jones, but who wants to hear Vader sound like a 90 year old like he did in Rogue One again?

The brainlet that made this meme didn’t realise that the Obi-Wan Kenobi trailer reused compositions that he produced two decades ago.

To make the score 25% different, said compositions got jammed into a Hans Zimmer machine, which makes the sound lack that... crispness the originals did.

They should get the voice actor who did Vader in the video games.

...and I doubt that John Williams had the last word on how Disney can use his work.
If I'm not mistaken, he only did the opening theme of this miniseries, another composer will do 90% of the score.

At least they’re not getting Bruce Willis’ voice actor for this series.

I wish they let John Williams be. No need to force his 90 year old ass out of retirement to do more music for Disney’s shitty SW.

Looking back at the Grand (ugly) Inquisitor, made me wish we have this...

Guy played a death eater, its going to be oddly fitting seeing him in that position. He just has this natural "evil" look to him.

Even my disney simp friend couldnt exactly defend much of the make up work in this. He said that the cartoon designs didnt always translate well given how Rebels was pretty stylized. I didnt throw the obvious like pointing out an alien of the same species being shown in EP 3 but I simply asked

"How about the eyes then? They could do Cad fucking Bane and yet they couldnt get even the eyes right?"

even he admitted he didnt have an excuse for that and that Disney apparently couldnt afford some CG black yellow eyes for him.

Even simps are having a difficulty defending this.

I have an idea, how about no inquisitors, rather than worry about how stupid they look or who plays them, they shouldnt even be in the story.

The biggest issue with this whole "series" is that there is far too much going on and far, far too much imperial presence on Tatooine. Realistically, there should just be some low level officer or bureaucrat snooping around. Having full fledged force sensitive "inquisitors" is not believable as the whole point is keeping Luke a secret for 20 years.

Tatooine is supposed to be a backwater nowhere land. Even the Vong didn't give a shit about it. Now its activity central for all the big events, even more than in pre-Disney.

They were better off just adapting the Kenobi novel and keeping it as a 2 hour film or 4 episode miniseries showcasing Obi-Wan trying to settle down, being regretful, getting into verbal fights with Owen on how to raise the boy, making friends with a nice local lady who gives him a nice high ground hut to stay in and just use tusken raiders, bandits or wild animals for the action scenes instead of bringing the empire and Filoni's faggy soyinquisitors into this.

Do you know which episode the Minds one was? I do remember Ian mentioning he was doing moderation in a different episode, which is why he was somewhat pro censorship as he had to go through all of the illegal shit posted on Minds.

Looking back at the Grand (ugly) Inquisitor, made me wish we have this... the actor Jason Isaccs look intimidating.

Did someone get lost on their way to the latest Hellraiser movie set? Oof!

This Kenobi show demonstrates another huge problem Disney has with Star Wars: their refusal to do anything pre or post Original Trilogy. Other than the garbage High Republic (something they themselves created), they refuse to set anything in the PT era or after the OT, AKA the sequel era (which is utter trash but that's besides the point). They've gone out of their way to make OT content and it's getting stale. I'm not talking about doing more of Filoni's shit either.

It's the same characters in the same locations doing the same things. Hell the sequels are just a watered down OT in tone and aesthetic, which the fans were okay with back in 2015 solely for the nostalgia pandering but completely fucked it over in terms of stories they can tell. Sure the OT is the most popular Star Wars era, but the PT has it's fans too. People bitch that the galaxy feels too small but then consume products that refuse to go outside of the setting of the first three Star Wars films.

I really think I'm the only person on the Farms who liked TBOBF and is excited for Kenobi, and that's okay. It's probably because I haven't read any of legends and gone down into the lore spiral and stuff. I do like reading all the back and forth discussion while I just sit in the corner like the autist I am.

I liked it for the most part, I just want a second season that's actually, y'know, written and paced correctly. Kenobi I'm definitely interested in but the bad cosplay inquisitors are pretty iffy.

That's a good point about the pacing and writing. And as much as I love Mando (obviously) I wish they would've just stuck with Boba. I knew we would have him show up, but I wasn't thinking he'd get his own two full episodes.
