Cyberpunk 2077 Grieving Thread

CDprojekt just announced their next flop game, A Witcher Sequel.

How much do you wanna bet everyone here is going to hype this shit despite their previous game being complete garbage (W3 is shit too, btw). Just consume and get excited for the next product I guess.
A Ciri Witcher game could have been cool if made by CDPR like 5 years ago but now it will be filled to the brim with forced out of place girl power and empowerment shit which is absurd because Ciri is already one of the most powerful beings in the universe and a space witch who can literally bend time and reality to her will, she doesn't need anymore empowerment.

It will probably be in person too both because CDPR is too lazy to do mesh rigging and animations and because they've gotten woke AF and think it will prevent nude mods (it won't people will make them and fap regardless.)

Edit: Ciri is a canon lesbian in both the original novels and the Netflix show so CDPR better be really careful how they portray the brothels and sex scenes in this one. If the facial animation make it look like Ciri is actually enjoying getting eaten out Resetera and the rest of the wokesphere will eat them alive for "exploitation."

all i know is ever since cyberpunk came out, if there are any game breaking bugs at launch, minor or otherwise, they will be heavily scrutinized for it even if they're able to patch it quickly

If gamers weren't the pinnacle of consoomer they'd be doing that already.

She's actually not a lesbian. She joined the Rats and one of the male members was going to rape her that night, but Mistle stepped in and did it herself. Ciri even spent the next day scrubbing herself. Their relationship in the books is heavily implied to be one of Stockholm Syndrome since Ciri became a horrible piece of shit when she was with the Rats, and after she got her tattoo of Mistle, she ran from them. She came back only because Bonhart was going to kill them all, not to save Mistle. All of her other interactions where she actually is confused about her feelings have been with men.

CDPR is the one that gave the choice in-game for you to make her a 'lesbian'. The books don't really support that. And Netflix is already working off their own agenda, so their "canon" counts for shit. If CDPR does continue go with that angle, it's entirely their own creation onto the character.

I really hope they let Ciri rest and that isn't a Cat school medallion... but they're probably creatively bankrupt enough to go for it.
It's not, it's the shape of a Lynx. Cat School Medallions designed by CDPR look different.

But again, their joint board game that they had on Kickstarter last year had Ciri as the last Stretch Goal, despite the game supposedly being hundreds of years before she was born. But because she's the Lady of Space and Time, she can be put into anything Witcher-wise, as far as they're concerned.

I'm a simp for RPGs so I can't help but be a little interested... but, yeah, CDPR lost all their good talent over the course of the Witcher trilogy's development, so I have no confidence in this being good.

So this is basically confirmation that Cyberpunk is dead right? They fixed it just enough for the lawlsuits to get dropped and now they're dropping it as fast as they possibly can to make a new Witcher game.

They're still talking about an expansion for it but, yeah, this seems to be a confirmation that they're moving on.
EDIT: To add to this, they're also dropping their REDengine in favor of UE5, which seems like an admittance that they bit off more than they could chew with 2077.

Also, I like that they've obviously not learned their lesson about announcing a game years and years before it's anywhere close to being released. Further, the lead developer has only worked on the Gwent game and did some UI work for TW3, which is to say they have their top talent working on this.

It still keeps delivering if you look at forums / social media.
- Russian consoomers whining "I stood by your shit game and didn't refund it and you stabbed me in the back baaaaaw"
- GOG bet heavily on expanding to Russia and even appointed a Russian as its vice ceo or something
- retards going "Russia will run out of money without VAT from GOG / other consoomer cancellations" as if that money won't go toward buying domestic god fucking dammit my brain hurts
- "now do China / Saudi Arabia / Israel / US"

Russians pirates are much better at preserving software than GOG itself. Rutracker is now unblocked, and there's talk of not enforcing copyright on "products which have left the market" (Not that the block worked all that well - the only thing which prevented people from pirating games was only ever moralfaggotry.)

I don't game these days, but as an anecdotal opinion metric: Parkrun (running as a hipster lifestyle) has banned Russians, and the soyest, most anti-Russian, pro-Ukraine guy I've ever seen is ABSOLUTELY FURIOUS that politics got in the way of his self-image. NO! I SWEAR TO NEVER REJOIN!!!1! THEY SHOULD COME TO US CRAWLING ON THEIR KNEES BEGGING FOR FORGIVENESS! He's now self-funding a replacement. If that's the attitude in the Gamer Community (tm), too, consoomeri s copyright in Russia is finished.
i see your wife's boyfriend let you on the computer today

Nah, I think it's more likely they're going to try and develop a new Witcher game while working on expansions and more content for Cyberpunk 2077.

Almost 300k likes in less than 24 hours! Keep in mind Twitter is a tiny bubble and the vast majority of the gaming community doesn't use that, so we actually have millions of people hyped to this garbage just like I said earlier.

Gamers never learn. This game is going to suck balls but will make bank anyway.

Russia should have bombed Poland instead.

I hope the fact they are ditching their in house engine is a sign of a shift in the industry.

Maybe an unpopular opinion, but so many developers deciding that they needed their own fucking engine 10 years ago is part of the reason games take for-fucking-ever to come out now and are total shit on top of it. (looking at you Kojimbo and EA)

True but CP2077 wasn't really the engine's fault. Red engine was custom made for third person RPGs, God knows what they were thinking when they decided to make CP2077 an FPS.

This sounds like the engine played a major factor into it's problems, similar to how EA's insistence of using Frostbite for *everything* has caused all sorts of issues with their games. (specifically Mass Effect Andromeda and Anthem comes to mind)

Yup, pretty much that exact same issue, kind of incredible they decided to make the same mistake given how much shit EA and Bioware caught for that.
