I'm surprised they kept his busy design and toned it down by about 10%. Whoever is on the team to animate him I wish them luck.

Well, Im glad that Alastor is pretty much unaltered. After the Charlie redesign I was concerned they would change Alastor who, lets face it, has kind of those perfect designs that feel difficult to find something to improve upon.

Im ok with Vaggie having a slightly different look but I hope Angel Dust keeps his design unaltered for the most part. You just kind of feel like these two have a design that just click and thus doesnt have much to improve.

As for the rest of the working crew, Im indifferent either way, unless the redesigns are awful or something
I hope Angel dust stays mostly the same too. But I hope they tone Husker down. His wings were cool but distracting.

My solution is to make them retractable, that means they dont gotta be on screen constantly (which would make the animators' jobs easier) and they can still bring them in if they are required somehow.

I'll give kudos to hh and hb for not using simple beanmouth shit and having angular and slick designs with so much detail it looks like a pain to animate. BUT there's too much red, man, and too many twinks too, i get that the general appeal for both series are twitter faggots but the only somewhat buff dude i've seen from this franchise was the vortex guy in hb, i guess asmodeus was close but he still got twink hips. Where my buff gay dudes at?

Fun fact: Vortex and Asmodeus have the same voice actor.

I know this is another autistic chris chan tier nitpick, but he didn't need any white in his design. I don't know how much effort they're saving up by leaving that uncolored, it looks like someone went through his collar with a correction pen.
He appears to be a tea drinker.

Viv stated ages ago that he likes coffee, not tea. I guess she could’ve retconned it though.

Edit: Just saw this.

So, he drinks the blood of his enemies from tea cups?
I would be pretty sure that's human (or possibly deer) blood. I forget where I got this impression, from some extra-canon source, but Alastor is one of the few demons who can permanently kill other demons, who ordinarily have some level of toon immunity from anything other than things like the Exorcists and those flaming twisters in Wrath (and perhaps really big falling rocks).

I just listened to the Moxxie/Millie song from the first half of the finale again and holy shit this is the cutest most adorable goddamn thing I've ever heard. The general concept, of a naive imp going to Ozzie's to sing an innocent love song, is good by itself, but Mox isn't actually that dumb. I think he knew how Asmodeus was going to react.

And I'll note that after Asmo threatened him and basically ordered him to sing something more perverted, he went right back into lovey-dovey shit. And then the audience actually applauded before Asmodeus threw him out.

Also just as a musical number it was pretty amazing, you had at least four people in it, Mox, Asmodeus, Fizzy, Verosika (with a truly vicious diss verse), handing off the melody to each other repeatedly.

And both Blitz and Stolas get called out and humiliated to the point I felt sorry for both of them.

I actually have some optimism for the future of, if not this show or the main show, the general future of Vivz. She knows how to evoke feels and thunks and there will always be a market for that.

I've noticed on the Alastor redesign the red on his suit is tinted up just a shade. It looks almost salmon or at the very least pinkish.

Oddly, Charlie's redesign has been tinted down from a definite salmon colored frock to a redder one.

I'm fond of red so this really stands out to me. It also doesn't make a ton of sense to me either. In the pilot anyway, Alastor's darker red color scheme seemed to broadcast his immense power, while Charlie's salmon frock showed her to be weaker and generally seemed to broadcast that her demonic-ness was weaker than at least Alastor's. Since Charlie is more supposed to be on the good side and Alastor is a warlord who gets away with doing almost anything he wants, that made sense.

My hypothesis is that since Charlie is more closely related the Hell's royalty being the daughter of the Devil and all she recieved a redder scheme while Alastor became less red to show the contrast. Either way I prefer the old scheme more.

On the contrary, Charlie is likely more powerful than Alastor (Viv might have even confirmed this but I'm not certain), she just prefers not to be violent. I think the shades of red were meant to be more indicative of their temperaments and outlooks.

You are probably right about the "daughter of Lucifer -> more red" decision behind her new color scheme though. I'm still not a big fan of it either.

Its not confirmed as far as I'm aware. And I also hope that's not the case since it would take a lot of the gravity out of Alastor's interaction with Charlie in the pilot if she could just swat him down or he was an even match for her.

I interpret Charlie as having the potential to be incredibly powerful but she's clearly not fully matured yet. Demonic life (unlife?') cycles haven't been touched on very much in either series, but the way Charlie interacts with the characters around her and reacts to the powers Alastor displays seems to indicate to me that, for the time being, she can't do a whole lot beyond hulking out into a more physically powerful demonic form. She definitely doesn't seem to have any of the spellcasting that either Alastor or Stolas are capable of.

I feel like it's too early to make those sorts of calls given how little we've seen of what Charlie can do. She's an adult and I don't see her actually using her powers for offensive purposes unless she gets either extremely threatened or protective. She definitely seems to be a non-combative person and will only fight back if she has no other choice, as demonstrated by her brawl with Katie. Alastor's strength is impressive because he was once human, whereas Charlie wasn't, and she probably hasn't seen abilities like his before.

Since I agreed to both of these I'll comment. I do think Charlie is more powerful than she's revealed so far. I think she could handle Alastor easily, and if not, taking out the scion of Lucifer and Lilith would be the end of his existence even if he won.

They may not be on great terms, but that's not something demon royalty tolerate.

I actually don't mind the Alastor redesign much, other than the reduction of pinstripes.

I think the angle Vivzie was getting at was that in a full-on Hell-Kamehameha fight, Charlie would live and Alastor would die, but everyone near the event would die too. Charlie, much like Goku, doesn't want anything like that to happen.

If that's the case I would expect some spots in the show where Alastor is pushing people around, or fully attacking someone, but hesitates to do the same to Charlie.
