In one of her videos she explained that she has a less severe case than typical because she has a compound heterozygous mutation (typical cases are some form of homozygous mutatiion I guess?). And she apparently is going to be part of a research study spanning a decade. The information is within the first several minutes of the video.

I've always thought of Cheyanne as one of the munchies who is legitimately sick but also happens to be a drama queen who got used to making sickness into her identity. She's spoken about having to be in the hospital for long periods of time as a child, that probably would leave some sort of mark of it being part of who she is. Getting a bunch of positive attention for it probably doesn't help either.

Cheyanne has an eating disorder she very very barely hid behind her alleged diseases. A few years ago someone was collabing on a deep dive on her, but we never published it because they got cold feet about how close to death she was. IIRC they had figured out her early hospitalizations were mostly her starving herself sick, getting put in the hospital, and then her mom screaming it wasn't anorexia and shopping around for a different diagnosis. I very strongly remember one of the things they found while digging was that she would hang out on MyProAna and those types of sites claiming she was doing research for school projects.

Her main problem that caused the rapid organ failure was she was TPN-dependent and claiming no oral consumption at all because of MCAS, but also claimed she reacted to every single lipid complex because ana-chan. TPN with no lipids blended her liver into paste in a short amount of time. Then while she was in the hospital for the liver issue she started shitting blood clots and by her description her intestine was so fragile from disuse it was falling apart while they were trying to scope her. They told her she needed a multi-visceral transplant and that she needed to be on megadose steroids. She had a little baby temper tantrum that she couldn't use steroids and lipids and accused the hospital staff of trying to kill her or something, they sent her packing.

Suddenly when they told her that was it, end of the line, and she would die without a transplant, she could tolerate steroids and her lipids just fine. She looked like moonface lisa simpson for a long time and i guess after years of compliance they let her get listed for transplant. I don't know why she's okay with this genetic mutation, whether she's lying about it or it's an incidental finding while she scrambled for a way to make this Not Her Fault or it's one of those things that doesn't always cause disease but is found on autopsy when it does. Who knows?

Her diet pre-TPN was nuggies, oreo cakesters, and candy which she "tolerated" but only in small amounts. Typical junk food ana.

Having an ak-tual diagnosis is meaningless since most munchies have a DX for something that can't be tested for. Fibro is one of those things. Enjoy your wastebasket diagnosis with 0 credibility. Most people with chronic pain and fatigue suffer from a high level of deconditioning. The longer you stay in bed and stationary, the harder it becomes to live a normal life. It's a rut that you need consistency and dedication to get out of. And you're going to feel like shit while you're working on it. This covers most POTS patients as well. Lose weight + lift weight. It works.

Because while there's a lot of romanticizing eating disorders there's still this underlying idea that it's something you've done or accomplished. The pro-ana weirdos think it's something they can work hard to achieve and normies think "just eat a sandwich, damn" or "Imagine starving yourself to death in a culture where food is everywhere". It doesn't have the "oh poor you" factor of being born into a fucked up body you can't fix and it doesn't come with permanent toys - you get tubed if your weight gets too low, fattened, and then they take your toy away. You don't get a luxury powerdrive wheelchair for everyday use for the rest of your life, you get Ashley Isaacs' transport chair she can't self-propel in but is too weak to go without. You don't get a super special service dog to alert to the fact that you haven't eaten today. Etc etc.

In short, if you have anorexia people expect you to get better and any lingering complications are "oh well, what did you expect?" whereas an illness you can't cure and didn't cause = forever asspats.

I've seen examples of chronic alcoholics or people otherwise judged to be incapable of the upkeep of the organ being refused transplants.

I too like to pull random %s out of my ass but use two different ones on the same page of my website.

What actually happened is that miss munchie submitted her DNA and got back two incidental/non-pathogenic mutations in genes, one of which she could munch hardcore about and happened to line up with her self-inflicted GI damage. Considering that this rare disease is, well, rare, and almost always fatal in early life, what really is the chances of her really having it?

This also explains the two mutations thing. We all have many, many single nucleotide variations of which almost none are pathogenic. Therefore, a proper case study isn't gonna give a rats ass about an incidental mutation cause each of us has thousands of them. But a random company that did the sequencing? Isn't gonna give a shit.

I just tried to find the post but unfortunately can’t, but there was a fascinating post on Reddit (maybe it was /r/MunchSnark) where 1 or 2 former munchies were telling their stories. The one I remember said she was fully aware she was a munchie the entire time. Not in denial, but consciously faking it. I think she said she had a broken ankle as a child and became addicted to the attention or something so just kept finding other ways to seek it.

Until that post I assumed they’re all in deep self-brainwashed denial or delusion. But since reading that, I just assume all munchies know exactly what they’re doing.

Anorexia is an ugly rat-monster of a disease. It is monstrous and transforms a person into something monstrous as a result. The munchies don’t own up to the eating disorders or consequences thereof because they are still under its hold. I tried to insert an image but it’s not working for me right now, but imagine that picture of a possum defending its full dumpster with the “don’t touch my garbage!!!!!!!!!!!” caption. That’s anorexics with their disease. They’re terrified to give it up because they believe it is the only thing that keeps them from immediately becoming fat. They’ll die to defend it like an infested host protecting that which has infested it, like they are being manipulated like a puppet from the inside.

That behavior looks quite a bit more sane, if not exactly reasonable, from the outside. Hence the lack of sympathy. It appears that anorexics are purposefully, knowingly sabotaging their own health. Of course that isn’t really true but you can understand a normie’s response to it. Funnily enough, I have observed that truly recovered anorexics get a lot of sympathy from their support network about the long-term consequences because then it IS something they are not actively inducing in themselves. But that requires recovery which is unacceptable to most with an active eating disorder.

Re: “am bby” behavior. I’ve observed self infantilism in both anorexics and munchies. It doesn’t appear to me to be fetish-based, like you’d see in trans-identified males, but more like a fear of being seen as capable of assuming responsibility for one’s own life. What’s that about? A super old episode of Extreme Makeover: Home Edition is on the TV on one of those shitty over the air stations. Episode focuses on a family that adopted 13 Haitian, inner city, and retarded kids. According to this family in their sob story tape, all hell broke loose when the mom was "diagnosed" with Ehler-Danlos as an adult. They show her on the couch, looking like she's in a stereotypical fainting on the couch position as she has a saline drip and a voiceover states that she "had" to get part of her intestines removed. She's also talking as I type this about how her temperature plummets during the winter (no shit, it's cold during the winter in Toledo). I know it's not "internet munchies" but I'm getting strong munchie vibes from this episode. Especially since she seems and is acting relatively fine otherwise.

So I've been a bit quiet on Casey (Wheelie Boy does a spin ) and I figured it was time to finish the saga out.

Last we left Casey, they claimed that they didn't actually have POTs but just had such severe anemia that it left them wheelchair bound. However that hasn't stopped Casey from still using and filming in their wheelchair.

• In a munchie first, Casey decided to make themselves the single fugliest jacket I've ever seen that has pockets for Narcan and first aid supplies as well as patches and buttons about their pronouns and identity.
• Casey has now decided that despite the Canadian government giving them a free place to live, and having willingly left their mum's home that they are homeless and impoverished.
• They're now a DID system that contains an ageless British archangel named Uriel. They clearly have never met or heard a British person talk based on their fake accent.
• By reposting their content without their permission we face "fines or jail time for copyright infringement, libel, harassment and other criminal charges"
