Then why exactly were you getting pissy when i pointed out that the US military had/has a crazy amount more capability and assets than russia? No, because they miss the point of the comment. Why would I waste my time getting into some sort of gay hair splitting contest about how many Iraqi tanks the US managed to blow up from beyond visible range with quarter million dollar missiles?
I didnt make any comment on it being due to some glorious american exceptionalism or somesuch. I stated its entirely because they had and have more shit, better funded shit, better developed shit, better supplied shit and more experience in using this shit.
In the beginning I thought this would be a costly victory for Russia where they took half of Ukraine and put Zelensky and other prominent Ukrainian figureheads in show trials.
Now I think Russia will have to fight for the territory they captured in February.. Ukraine is advancing on Kherson, and Russia has yet to make a successful attack on Kharkiv.
Ukraine is not capturing Crimea or Donetsk, but the question is what the fate of Kherson and Mariupol will be in the summer.
Russia can capture Mariupol, but can they hold it? That requires greater success near Kherson and Kharkiv to tie down the Ukrainian army
And this right here is the crux of things. Russia's best option is that "eventually" it might win a drawn out slog against Ukraine, which completely shatters the past decade and a half of delusions of its military being up to par with that of burgerland or some of the more military focussed NATO states given how burgerland and countries like bongland or frogland have fared in significantly more logistically, geographically, and militarily challenging warfare over the past half century.
And as I said before, if this was poland or belarus in russia's place I would would not nearly be so harsh, but russia has hyped itself and been hyped by its internet autists to such an absurd degree that its failure to measure up entirely warrants the mockery its getting.
