I’m watching the Student Pride panel now. (it’s on their website.). Olly got a big applause break with “Trans Power,” though he didn’t scream it this time.
He says he doesn’t really care about trans depictions in the media, he cares about power. He cares more about half a dozen cis people who are holding troons down. He says if he encountered the head of the NHS he’d tell him to “desegregate the health care system, now!” He says he won’t name the person. But people can look it up. But then he clumsily adds that he isn’t encouraging anyone to go after this person.

I first found out about him a few years ago when I was trying to find actual philosophy content on YouTube (Bryan Magee interviewing Anthony Quinton or whatever) and he came up. I was also pissed off about how superficial his knowledge of the subject seemed to be despite giving his channel such a grandiose title, and I found him the most annoying Breadtuber (against stiff competition). He's as smug and unlikeable as Contrapoints or Hbomberguy but much more retarded.
I then mostly forgot about him (I think I saw the video in which he appears half-naked with a snake and noted how his ego had swollen) until the recent Lindsay Ellis meltdown. Apparently her audiobooks were narrated by someone called 'Abigail Thorn'. "Sounds like a porn name", I thought. Googled it and: HOLY SHIT, he actually fucking did it. He went trans for the attention. How hilariously unsurprising. I've been hooked ever since. The majority of lolcows are actually pretty depressing. Hating on Olly just never gets old somehow.
