Saints Row thread

If they are smart, they'd be using the delay the redesign the characters and maybe rewrite some of the dialogue to be less embarrassing (especially that Steve Urkel looking motherfucker, who dresses like that?). The story as is will probably be set in stone for better or worse, but they can use the extra time to at least make the presentation more palatable.

That would all require humility on Volition's part, so I'm not holding my breath given how they reacted to the initial criticism.

there is such a vast ammount of good games that even if this shits turn out good (it wont) the hype campaing was so bad that im actually rooting against the game

This. Volition's previous game, agents of mayhem, didn't have nearly as bad as a response from fans but sold abysmally. The new Sr game has been even less well-received. The only thing this game has going for it is the name.

My bet on the delay is that it was cyberpunk tier finished and thought they'd fix it up a bit because no fucking game can release finished and god forbid it, polished. Remember the era of halo 1 and Cod:MW when the game was playable out of the box and not fucking jank garbage with more memory leaks than a sieve.

Seriously fucking developers learn to code, jesus christ my computer shouldn't be sounding like it wants to kill itself when I boot up your game.

Third is piss easy compared to 1.

I remember the Los Carneles final mission. Dear Lord, those RPGs are a bitch to shoot while moving.
As a whole, yes 3 was much easier than 1. But Prof. Genki's side mission could be a little frustrating if you did it before you got the unlimited ammo for the weapons and damage reduction.

And seriously, fuck that last The Los Carnales mission (shut up Dex, I know what the fuck I said and I stand by it). I think I had to redo the mission like 5 times before I finally beat it, and just barely at that.

They couldn’t be bothered to fire the Saints Row PR person on Twitter for trying to insult the old fanbase for not liking “woke” characters like the lead female and the Uriel rip-off.

Saints Row's customization. On the one hand, it does look more in-depth compared to previous entries. I am getting Sunset Overdrive vibes with the atmosphere. Even add wrinkles and deformities to your character. Nice.

BUT, they STILL didn't change the characters from the teaser. Imagine being some old person and running a gang of college dropouts.

The western setting with Saints Row reminds me a bit of Cyberpunk. Will it be polished at launch?

This is the first thing that legit has me hyped except maybe the setting.
Not gonna buy it but they at least got 1 thing right.

So that's where most of the devwork went into for the delays huh.

Yep, they're fucked. They're totally fucked.
If it wants to be more like SR3/4, fine. We could do without the "millennial power fantasy" trope, especially in today's climate.

I can't have [insert 20th century actress here] roaming the streets with Steve Urkel talking about debt. Bitch, your BOSS has dealt with legitimate sexism before they were born!

>change the black man's clothes
>it's troon flag coded, like his golf cart

Cant fucking deal with the writing in this shit, for every single thought i might have about trying it out, it just takes five seconds of these characters (or even the devs for that matter) to put the wallet away, this unsufferable zoomer shit is not for me

Also for all the deep customization options, they couldnt showcase one single appealing looking character

The writing is the worst part of this reboot. Completely off base for a gangsta open world.
