A lathe that small, that cheap, in a boglim's den? Never receiving basic maintenance? So much could have gone wrong with it

Trust me wood lathes are hard to kill they are incredibly simple and run for years and years without maintenance or serious issues for it to not turn the spindle something like the belts slipped / jammed is a distinct possibility. Wood lathes are not like metalworking lathes with lots of precision parts and gear sets they are a Frame to hold the Motor the spindle and tailstock with the tool rest lightly clamped to the bed.

The motor is several times more powerful than it needs to be as well, given what he's turning and how he's turning he wouldnt have burned the motor out and if he did he would have mentioned that it's let the magical smoke out. My money's on a trapped / stuck belt rather than a mechanical problem he can fix that in a few minutes by taking the belt cover off and looking at it - it's in the manual for the lathe.

Chances are Josh has gotten used to the pay piggies and redditors handing over money to him to cover for his booze fueled rambling and is now pushing the envelope in order to pay for a $1000+ phone. But it's so the fans can see cooking vids in higher quality, dood.

It would be nice if Jord put in a bit of effort and would at least go stick collecting and sell a few batches of wands, maybe even instill a bit of ownership and taking care of something he would pay for himself, but of course I give Josh too much credit.

Prety much, the only other things I can think of are the Fuse blowing or the power switch is fucked or he's got the E Stop jammed down - but the fuse is a simple one to fix as well, the power switch might have failed if he's been very rough with it but it's essentially a lego part and the supplier can send you the part or you can buy one from amazon. the E-Stop assuming it has one should fail closed and return to open once the powers been cycled or you can manually return it to the open position on cheaper machines it's just a big button on the case over the regular power switch that lets you slap it.

But other than the fuse it's very unlikely those parts have failed.

That, or he's made another drunken midnight purchase that he can't pay for.

The thing I dont think adds up with the phone is he went almost a month without a working computer, and he wasn't getting desperate for money like this over that. Maybe its because christmas was so close, yeah, but would he really be as concerned over a sale foam when his supposed job "youtube" was seriously hampered by not having a comp? He's still got the comp, he can still livestream. That's the other thing, why does he think he can't livestream while he doesnt have a phone?

I'm still saying it's bills. josh really don't need/want a phone. he hardly put in any effort into his "cooking" videos anymore and seems like he just doesn't care anymore about them. He's just getting deeper into his addictions and doesn't care for anything else, so it has to be something that harms his daily life. to me, getting your power cut off would freak me out than not having a phone to record myself cooking shitty food.

SSDI would only be affected once he filed taxes and they showed he made over a minimum. He could win the lottery (clock tower dream house, here we come!) and they still wouldn’t stop sending cheques unless notified. It’s kinda why the trolls suggesting they inform on his probably unreported income is real threat.

I gotta agree, he does seem more worried about this ‘bill’ than when computer went down. I’m still leaning towards him needing a phone and I wouldn’t put it past him to be acting about how ‘urgent’ this is.

I dunno. While trying to sell the hat, he was talking about making wands to with it, so I don't think the lathe was broken then.

Clint does handle his rent, that's confirmed. Josh pays for his electric bill/internet on his own, though. He's pretty good about paying it too, as he would lose literally anything that makes him feel important or feeds his delusions if he didn't. He's been doing it pretty well for a year or so now, surprisingly.

Oh. I always thought clint used the few bucks left after his rent to pay the other bills. Since cobes is on ssdi, he would probably only have to pay a small percentage of utilities and internet. If he pays those himself, the new begging is almost definitely because he hasn't been paying them and they are threatening to turn it off in two months. He spends every penny on booze and would for sure skip bills for it. It could have been kept on during winter months and just added up for the last 6 months.
