It is (and in the near future that becomes 'was') a publicly traded company. Unless you have another holdout with Musk-level ego willing to dump huge sums of cash in the dumpster to "win," the market will provide what you want, in this case enough of Twitter to tell everyone to fuck off.

Obviously there are some rare situations this doesn't apply, like when obvious antitrust issues arise before the sale, and the SEC/FTC/whoever is willing to go to bat to shut it down but that isn't very often at all and at least by itself, not (yet) clearly a trust law violation to warrant action other than possible litigation between the parties. If anything, Musk should sue for a haircut on the misrepresentation of the value stock issues in their public disclosures. He'd have possibly paid less if he'd known that.
