General Discussion for Virtual Youtubers / Vtubers / Chuubas - it's okay to be a simp for 2D, just don't thirstpost.

  • 🔧 At about Midnight EST I am going to completely fuck up the site trying to fix something.
Pippa's autism is really flaring up tonight, and she mentioned where that thumbnail was from, fucking white women...
lol the phrasing took me in two crazy directions:

Pippa's autism is really flaring up tonight, and she mentioned where that thumbnail was from, which was fucking white women...

Pippa's autism is really flaring up tonight, and she mentioned where that thumbnail was from, while fucking white women...

I'm pretty sure she just does it for a bit before the stream to lure in stray hornies and then changes it back to what it was before, which was a very innocent image of Eve. The worst part is I had the actual stream open, so when I saw it was full monitor sized, scared the shit out of me.
OH I'm pretty sure she want's to Pip that "boat girl" from Azur Lane she had on the thumb a few streams ago, Didn't catch what the girl on the color out of space stream was but if she picked it she Pips it. Pip'n is what I'm calling the ambiguous fixation Pippa has for 2d girls. We know it's not full gay but it's something.

I think Sakana should make Minecraft only once a week rule. You know how some of you feel about "oh boy more Elden Ring..." that's what minecraft does to me. I'll put up with it for love of the streamer but... please...

Kiara actually openly admits to stalking her viewers on social media.
Kiara does, apparently she knows some of their secret accounts and reads her more well known fan's thirsty posts even when they're not hashtagged.
Plenty. The Niji girls made mention they stalk their fans to a degree, some more than others (Enna/Millie/finana were more open about it and probably the biggest SCers more than just general people), Korone takes note of some people as well. Lulu used to at times. Gura made mention before "even if I don't really reply or respond" so honestly I think most if not all do to some degree (ego searching) or to keep tabs on certain people (idiots being blatant about past life posting.)
The stalkee becomes the stalker. See, this is the kind of character development that's missing in modern TV.

We can add Pikamee to the list of idols who stalk their fans too.

(This all means that if you comment regularly on different streams, you may have been stalked by multiple vtubers. A group of anime girls could be watching you right now.)

Subaru has also mentioned she stalks her viewers twitter accounts - but that is not quite what I was talking about. On several occasions Amelia Watson has, like in the video posted earlier, mentioned things like the phone listening in or the 'government' spying on people etc., like a toned down Watoto mostly hiding his powerlevel sort of thing, or alluded to surveillance in a joking way like on their VRchat debut which iirc caused a very brief confused silence. Pippa obviously has talked about similar things in Alex Jones-style exaggerated rants. I was wondering whether there are other vtubers who are known to mention ubiquitous surveillance like that, not just reading fans' twitter postings.

I am curious because I think willingness to mention or discuss the topic of surveillance of the population is an indicator of what sort of person they are.

I'm pretty sure they were talking about @Godzilla1984 's Pippenis before I switched to the Kino Casino.

lol the phrasing took me in two crazy directions:
Option three, I was saying "fucking white women" as in reference to her because of the source material. I looked it up out of curiosity.

I'm ok with her lusting after 2D girls, I accept her with her flaws regardless of wishing to fix her. I mean I can't really talk, I'd pip the pipkin and I don't even know what she looks like.

I don't really care about Minecraft, but I don't really watch her for the games she plays, just for the random shit she talks about so usually I'll just have it on the second monitor while I do other stuff. I'm not sure what game I'd be interested in, but her reading stream yesterday was really nice.

Delutaya Update:

In the latest of Delutaya, She did a Fanbox Phasmophobia stream with her fans.
Here's a little audio clip of this stream.

Here's what Delta has been up to recently. TL: DR She's been improving her life greatly. (A)

>It seems like the Rushia graduation and the speed Mike was able to return sort of kicked Delta in the butt. Delta has always been a Gen 3 fan and she watches Mike's streams.
>Delta has spent money on a live 2D it is being worked on the darn Mesugaki did an entire design change incorporating her former personas design elements into it. Or at least the prototype appears that way.
>Album is almost done
>Delta is working on more merch
>She has been going on regular trips to Tokyo for recording work
>she has become MUCH MUCH more active publicly
>her cat Kuro passed away he was rather old she recovered pretty fast though she did take a break for a week
>she is streaming again full time in the fanbox as you can tell from the recent stream she goes all in with viewer participation as she feels she trusts the fans a lot more
>Her brother lost his job and is living with her and her Mom again which made her happy since she was worried about him
>She united the Lost Tribes of her old days as Ushi and had a great time talking about old times
>Has several more Covers lined up
>Just celebrated Vivi's birthday the pet store sent her a baby picture and toy as a gift
>she is doing some VA work for a game and may be accepting more
The Live2D prototype:

That is all.

So by that logic (in the video), isn't the term itself irrelevant?
The second link imo is just applicable to any entertainer. Any entertainer wants to get more fans, yet not all of them are viewed as idols.
I just don't get why a talented person would say "I want to be an idol" instead of becoming a singer, actor, etc.

Kpop seems to be doing well and I consider that idol culture. But it is easier to assume as a westerner I will just never understand it.
Kpop is doing as harsh as the Japan Idol, well for instance,
let say people like in BTS, have been in trainee since they're 14 or around like that, just to make sure later on a couple of years later they explode and become popular. and along that process, you still have a chance to fucked up, after doing all activity that sounds like child slave labor. I'm not saying its actually BTS case, but most KPOP idol you know that now populate usually has been through since they ain't legal. it's kind of product in the making

not to mention the rule not to date until you hit 30, just to keep selling the fantasy to their fans that you can have a chance to date them. although in reality they secretly dating with others, because mostly when you hit 30 in kpop idol culture, you mostly already have more bigger decisions about where you gonna go next, like they can either go solo career or pursue, acting, etc. and you are more laid back and somehow your fans also fine with their idol dating... (?)

+ they way corpo milking their fans, let say you have a bigger chance to video call with your idol if you buy their album which is mostly 1 already a bit pricy (at least for me) and then there are people who buy 30-40 album for a person.

did they actually copy that from Korea?
nah i think idol culture in Japan already big on itself around 60 while korea just start in 1996. + they still have a heat relationship between each other, there is no way japan try copy that from their enemy. also Japan focus on tits, while korea seems focus on thigh or ass shot

Delutaya Update:
i love how Delutaya growing as herself seeing the update like this. and then there Holotard who will keep digging "huhu muh 5th gen devil graduate within a month i wish she still here"

Fellas, why do you love your Oshi?
Great music. Decent artist. Keeps her stuff clean. Genuinely believes in everything she does, in a good way. Ambitious enough that she never stops moving, playful enough to have fun while she's at it. Interacts well with others (including people outside Holo). Generally quite smart but isn't arrogant about it.

It's very easy to cheer for her because she often succeeds. In some ways I aspire to be like her (not in the tranny sense, just as a person).

Generally lots of good traits and few negative ones. Lastly of course, she is cute today too.

What he said. I don't watch Suisei as much anymore; the language barrier is a bit hard to make it mainstream. However, her career and tenacity is monolithic and I consider her to be my 'oshi' in the sense that, of all the talents, I want her to succeed the most. Honestly, even if that means graduation.
Keep in mind it's not necessarily all true, or at least not in the way it's presented.
From watching hers, and Lumi's streams while reading the interactions in chat (from said members and some drop ins from Cyberlive). I kind of believe the story. I'm not going to completely exonerate the bitchiness displayed, but if even half of what is true about the company head-shed, it makes a lot of sense that a manager like that would cause enough drama and misunderstandings for toxicity.
TL;DR I have no idea what an idol is supposed to be and I think I hate them.
yet Korone supposedly has kids
Idol culture only works on and for the japanese culture
I think one of the better descriptions of what it means to be an idol actually comes from someone talking about how they don't really want to be considered one. So, here is a quick blurb from the living-waifu herself, Amamiya Sora:
It is a completely idealized form of entertainment that lives and breaths for the fans first.

I think it is really strange that people draw this line between what Idols are in Japan and what we have seen in the West; like the way Idols are commercialized isn't something relatively normal here for many years. If you want to know what an Idol is, they are basically the Japanese equivalent of what Britney Spears and any number of boy-bands were back in the 90s and early 2000s. You might not remember but there was a time where people worshiped Britney (and a major part of her marketing was her virginity, something that Justin Timberlake joked about in an SNL skit). Going further, they are very much akin to how Hannah Montana and any of the Disney star/singers were marketed. We have this this 'pure, sweet, innocent' singer that 'lives for their fans' already in the West. The Japanese just perfected the market.

I won't lie, I kind of am not interested with Pippa's stream tonight. Might watch Kino Casino for now. I will say though Pippa did say some funny dumb things so far!

You wrote about Suisei but site is being weird about quoting rn
I really need to learn more about Jp idol culture and look into idol things more. i like to learn more why people really love the idol aspect of vtubers. Suisei is a amazing singer and smartass!

i love how Delutaya growing as herself seeing the update like this. and then there Holotard who will keep digging "huhu muh 5th gen devil graduate within a month i wish she still here"
Wait, so are you saying Delutaya was Mano Aloe? I ask this cause I always wonder where she went after leaving so abruptly

Switched over to Lia's stream myself (good background while I do other things). If there's any interesting ramblings from Pippa's stream, most likely they'll end up here.

Yep, surprising when I hear people don't know this sort of thing tbh.

I'm watching the Casino since it's a once a week show while Pippa has an almost daily show. Today was a little boring, despite the amplified autism, but that's reasonable with how many shows she does, not all of them can be as good as the Lumi stream. She's also best when she has a straightman to bounce jokes off of.
