Minecraft

How have people not clicked that the reason for Minecraft's absolutely glacial update pattern is because they don't want to drastically up the specs required for playing the game, which would actually break the game on low performance pcs/certain consoles/android/switch etc.

They physically CAN'T make any major upgrades because it'd tank performance.
They've already made enough changes that have tanked performance in the Java Edition. Currently, heavily modded older versions of Java edition run vastly superior to modern vanilla versions, or at least that was the case a month or so ago.

I dunno. 1.18 runs just fine for me and I'm not using a gaming computer. Have you tried tweaking the video settings?

Preformance is shit. Try either Optifine or Sodium (Fabric is required).
Allocate more RAM to Minecraft.

If i remember correctly Minecraft Java is complete ass preformance wise and it has been cuz of Java.
Bedrock runs like a dream, but a lot of farms/redstone is useless/broken/won't work.

Speaking of mining and farming, what do you guys think of the Create mod?
Its a cool mod.

Made no real change. Generating new chunks and reloading previously generated chunks makes the game noticeably stutter, and hardware usage (CPU) is drastically greater than that of modded prior versions.

Had the same issue, even with Optifine, alongside tons of lag. I'd recommend switching to the Sodium mod (alongside it's companion mods Lithium and Phosphor) which dramatically improved performance for me.

(Just for completeness, I also run this mod which fixes Sodium's change to grass path lighting)

I'm thinking Mojang needs to just bite the bullet and optimize the game before it gets even more out of hand.

Not exactly. If it was just because of Java, then the performance mods would have little to no affect on the game.

The reason Bedrock edition runs so well is not because it runs on a newer programming language. It runs better because it was built from the ground up without Notch's messy code.

This also means, however, that certain things from Java such as redstone don't work the same way (as the redstone functions that we're familiar with was a bug made into a function).

I lost my fucking minecraft account of six years because of the migration and because I forgot my security questions and don't have access to the old email I used, my only other avenue is to get the transaction ID, but it was on my mother's card and there's no way I'm going to find it. Honestly kind of pissed. Fortunately the only server I play on I know the people, the hard part will be transferring my inventories in my SP worlds to the new account if I even end up buying one.
Fucking bullshit

Ah yeah, that was it. Thank you for correcting me.

Damn man. Also there was another migration to a mojang account before the Microsoft one recently?

Yeah the playerdata shit is annoying.

At least I can still mod dev using gradle, but I can't actually enjoy any packs

To recover your SP stuff, try using a cracked launcher with your old account name and then try joining your world.

It should then put you where you logged off with all the items in your inventory. Then place said items in a chest nearby you, so you can then recover them later with your newer account.

Also remember to check your e-chest as well.

I never tried this before, but it should theoretically work.

I wish that we could get the same access to mods on Bedrock like we can with Java. I would possibly make the switch then since Bedrock does perform better.

I was honestly just thinking of modifying the UUID using a dat editor

I don't really wanna mess with cracked launchers, MultiMC works great. I think what I'll do is modify the level.dat and change the UUID of the player to my new account

Bedrock doesn't have modded 1.7.10

All the more reason for me to move on; I got near ten years out of Minecraft (played since Beta 1.8 ), and I feel like I'm done now, especially considering I'm planning on excising all vidya from my life because I lost interest in the hobby over the years. Whenever I do play MC now, I get bored pretty quick, and that same sense of wonder isn't there anymore.

While I'm here, I just want to point out how video game players will defend their hobby from boomers who are mentally stuck in the 80's and think all games are for children while at the same time mocking and making condescending comments to Minecraft players because it's apparently "for kids"; I've seen this happen multiple times and have experienced it myself. They will claim adults can enjoy video games, too, but Minecraft is apparently the only exception to that rule. Okay then.

I've gotten somewhat back into Minecraft recently; the last time I played anywhere near this much was probably around 2018. I've been playing Bedrock on my phone during downtime (now that I actually have downtime again), and I started playing on Realms that people have publicly posted the access code to, since none of my friends currently play and I don't want to have to go into people's shitty Discords. I ended up in one for a few days where the owner was either trying to use other players to mine resources for him or he just wanted to have other players come to him to grief them; I got booted a few days ago after he randomly decided to murder me in the diamond mine we were digging, then spawn camp/trap me and murder me about half a dozen more times. I noticed a few hours ago that he had posted a new, unprotected access code, so I went in, burned his house down (including all of the chests), burned down the surrounding forest, and filled as much of the area as possible with lava and obsidian.

Totally unrelated to that, I found my nearly decade-old castle blueprints on a drive in my closet, so I might rebuild that in a single-player world. Not sure that I have the time or patience for it though.

So someone made a very interesting project, Minecraft but in "4D."

The project seemed to be a sequel of some sort to his "1D" game.
playing as Pim in the perfect 3DS game.jpg

Btw on that topic, someone also made a 1D Minecraft and it's just as interesting to watch, at least in my opinion.

Btw the pic in the video screenshot is referencing another video where a dude makes Minecraft into a 2D game, crazy world that there's videos on making Minecraft a 3D game into a 1D, 2D and now a 4D game..

Anyways the 4D Miner project looks pretty cool and I'll for sure try out the full Steam version with my friends after it comes out and the likes.

Anyways that's really all I have to say, the other thing is that Notch saw the project which is kind of interesting.
forgot to add this somehow.jpg
