The community reaction to this is about what I expected and I can't help but feel like this vid is damage control. Especially when Prior Ask Mojang videos didn't have this kind of production quality.Mojang uploaded this(the literawhos in the thumbnail is the sign)
And the reaction to this trashfire:

Maybe this is what they meant with the Wild Update because it is certainly wilder than the update.
At this point, it's pretty obvious that Mojang wanted this to be a small update. They should have communicated that better at Minecraft Live (and most definitely shouldn't have called it the "Wild Update") because now the playerbase is pissed. Hell, I'd be lying if I said I wasn't disappointed by this.
I don't get their reason for shelving fireflies either. Their main use may have been replaced by magma cubes and slimes, but you're telling me you guys couldn't have made "Firefly jars" be a thing in its place?
There's also the birch forest revamp that they apparently didn't have time to work on. Which is dumb in it's own right, but that doesn't bother me as much because nothing crazy was going to be happening there if the concept art is anything to go by.
I find it funny how suddenly the community is pissed about them not including an atmospheric mob when players hated them not to long ago.
