Honestly probably close to a year now, if not over. I burned myself out playing too much then lost my desktop and have just recently wanted to get back into it.How long ago has it been since you played this game?

Swift Sneak is garbage. especially on boots (yes I know they're moving it to leggings), what's the point of dealing with the warden for an enchant that just makes dealing with the warden easier?Does anyone else feel like Swift Sneak is a shit enchant?
I mean sure it counters the Warden a bit but holy fuck couldn't they give us a better treasure?
The Warden is intended to be an obstacle, not an opponent. It has (currently) 500 HP (200 more than the Wither in JE), deals an obsurd amount of damage and, on top of all of that, there's an endless supply of them. There's no point in making the Warden have mob drops when not only will it keep coming back after you take down one, but they're so bulky that even the strongest obtainable weapon in the game takes a while to kill him. The devs pretty much want him to be a challenging encounter in ways that doesn't involve combat.I don't get the dev's obsession with making sure the warden doesn't drop anything either, imagine getting swift sneak after sneaking around the warden and then returning later and killing it with stealth enhanced by the enchantment you got by sneaking around the warden for some cool reward? Sounds way more awesome than just having to sneak around it forever which sounds like it could become phantom-tier if you want to build in an area the deep dark is at.
Like I said, you're not suppose to fight him. The Warden isn't completely dependent on sound. It also has the ability to "sniff" you out in order to better figure out where you are and, with our base sneaking speed, you can't get away from him quickly enough to avoid being spotted. That is where Swift Sneak comes in.Swift Sneak is garbage. especially on boots (yes I know they're moving it to leggings), what's the point of dealing with the warden for an enchant that just makes dealing with the warden easier?
This is the first snapshot of many. There's probably way more in store than just a new treasure enchantment.Does anyone else feel like Swift Sneak is a shit enchant?

I know, I'm saying the approach is stupid for a game like Minecraft. The Warden is intended to be an obstacle, not an opponent.
Well obviously my idea I thought of in 5 minutes wouldn't work with the current framework, that wasn't my point. My point was that dealing the Warden when you just want to build some structure in a place where the deep dark is nearby is going to be annoying.and, on top of all of that, there's an endless supply of them. There's no point in making the Warden have mob drops when not only will it keep coming back after you take down one, but they're so bulky that even the strongest obtainable weapon in the game takes a while to kill him.
Yes, you can do this, and these are cool mechanics. I would like to use these mechanics in a cool challenge that seems more fitting for the game.Besides, sneaking isn't your only method of stealth in the Deep Dark. You can also use wool to cancel the noise you make around the sculk and use snowballs to redirect the warden when it appears.
While this is true for Java, you're forgetting bugrock has the ability where you can just run while bridging. Half the playerbase will have no use for the enchantment besides the Warden.Swift Sneak is a fine enchantment. Outside of the Deep Dark stealth, SS makes building a whole lot quicker especially with Scaffolding.
The main difference between the Phantom and the Warden is that the Warden is a mob the player will need to go out of their way to encounter while Phantoms can spawn anywhere on the surface.I know, I'm saying the approach is stupid for a game like Minecraft.
While the Warden appears cool now, I see all the signs of it just becoming a biome specific phantom. The reason the Phantom is hated so much is because it is an annoying obstacle that gets in the way. If you want to build in an area the deep dark is near, you will have to constantly deal with the Warden, just as you do with the Phantoms now.
I fail to see how deep dark stealth doesn't fit Minecraft when the game has already had minor stealth elements sprinkled throughout.Yes, you can do this, and these are cool mechanics. I would like to use these mechanics in a cool challenge that seems more fitting for the game.
That's not relevant to me as I play Java edition. That's the player's fault for playing an inferior version of the game. While this is true for Java, you're forgetting bugrock has the ability where you can just run while bridging. Half the playerbase will have no use for the enchantment besides the Warden.
BOY I SURE AM GLAD I LIVE IN THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA (PEACE BE UNTO THEM) WHERE THEY CAN'T BAN ME FROM A GAME BECAUSE OF SOMETHING MY COUNTRY DOES WITHOUT MY CONSENTDouble posting to let you guys know that, along with frogs, bedrock has an experimental beta available with the Allay.
And in related news, Bedrock players are taking this opportunity to gloat as much as possible. Some examples:

I don't play alot of Bedrock Edition, but someone coded them to eat anything that moves.BOY I SURE AM GLAD I LIVE IN THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA (PEACE BE UNTO THEM) WHERE THEY CAN'T BAN ME FROM A GAME BECAUSE OF SOMETHING MY COUNTRY DOES WITHOUT MY CONSENT
right?...
On topic, how are the frogs? I will never give up java.
The skins or the 990 minecoins faggot pack?I bought the Norse mythology pack for Minecraft and I love it. It’s pretty good looking on PS4.
The faggot pack because it looked cool. The good thing is that they update the new items with the texture pack. The skins or the 990 minecoins faggot pack?
It's been years since I've played any Minecraft, and every now and then I think about giving it another go. Then I remember that I've always used Java edition and modded the hell out of it, and a very quick glance shows that many of the mods I enjoyed haven't been updated within the last two years and are still on version 1.12.I was lucky enough to get a new desktop this weekend and redownloading Minecraft to see if it still felt weird to me was one of the first things I did. Thankfully it all seemed normal, so I'm guessing it was just something with playing on a Microsoft Surface instead of an actual good desktop. I'm excited to get back into the game after what seems like forever!

Things that added more biomes/resources/mobs/items, such as GalactiCraft (rockets, planets, spaaaaaace), Thermal Expansion/Dynamics (machines and automation), Mekanism, BiomesOPlenty, Natura, Twilight Forest, MystCraft, Tinker's Constructs (tool customization), things that added multiple explorable dungeons, more weather effects/hazards, Grimoire of Gaia (more neutral/dangerous mobs), Applied Energistics (computer storage system) and some mod that gave a useful glider recipe for the more memorable ones. I've got about 700 MB of mods just sitting around since I never deleted anything, split through Minecraft versions 1.7.10 and 1.12.2.What kind of mods did you enjoy using?
At least half of those were ported to the newer versions when I last checked. Although, for mods like natura and mystcraft, I'd say that there are better alternatives available in the newer versions of the game.Things that added more biomes/resources/mobs/items, such as GalactiCraft (rockets, planets, spaaaaaace), Thermal Expansion/Dynamics (machines and automation), Mekanism, BiomesOPlenty, Natura, Twilight Forest, MystCraft, Tinker's Constructs (tool customization), things that added multiple explorable dungeons, more weather effects/hazards, Grimoire of Gaia (more neutral/dangerous mobs), Applied Energistics (computer storage system) and some mod that gave a useful glider recipe for the more memorable ones. After spending around two to three hours looking through mods, installing forge, downloading mods and making sure they're for the right version, and doing some troubleshooting for poor performance, I have realized something. At least half of those were ported to the newer versions when I last checked. Like for agricultural mods you got stuff like Simple farming (simple crop expansion mod with tons of food items) and Farmers' delight (Same as simple farming, but with a smaller selection of crops with more tools and work stations making up for it).
And magic mods got mods like Ars Noveau (magic mod with a unique spell crafting system).
Fair enough. It's not like a world-generation overhaul wasn't going to come with some issues. After spending around two to three hours looking through mods, installing forge, downloading mods and making sure they're for the right version, and doing some troubleshooting for poor performance, I have realized something.
A very heavily modded Minecraft 1.12.2 via Forge runs vastly superior to an unmodded vanilla 1.18.1. The only area where it falls short is the initial loading time to get into the menu; in every other aspect, it performs far superior in computer hardware usage, chunk loading/generation, and in maintaining a smooth framerate. At least for me, the moment any sort of mod gets added to 1.18.1 performance goes straight to hell in a handbasket, and even if you're running vanilla chunk loading/generation runs like complete ass and makes the game very noticeably skip and pause even if you're moving into already generated territory.
TL;DR - Long live 1.12.2.
Edit - Also, now that Forge just expects every mod to be in the generic mods folder instead of a version-specific subfolder just pisses me off.
