I haven't seen any sign that Gura's parenting was lacking, she's just terminally online because she's too introverted for most RL things that aren't with people she knows well. Her life skills themselves don't seem to bad; she cooks and cleans for herself, even if she does occasionally decide to put up with some foods she shouldn't, she knows how to be frugal rather than rack up debt, and she can deal with large chunks of dead vermin left by her cat without freaking out about it.

To answer your question though, a lot of SEA folks grew up eating/hating certain veggies (basically bittermelon, bellpepper and equivalent of cauliflower i believe) cooked, let alone raw to the point your body automatically wants to reject it just smelling it or even seeing it. She's been throwing up for hours after lol. I don't live in Canada so I'm not sure their standards/practices but she could also have gotten a bad batch of a few of them, like she almost immediately gagged from eating a carrot.
