General GunTuber thread

My favorite thing about that Q&A was how they talked about how if you find a machine gun in the proverbial attic you should totally go to the ATF because if it's actually on the registry they'll help you out, and if it's not they won't prosecute you for doing the right thing... And didn't even slightly mention that 'the right thing' would result in them taking it from you.
If I'm remembering correctly they were dancing around the issue and saying what they were supposed to.

That's just how I remember it. I just thought it was setting up people to be upset. Like the most likely outcome is the thing gets taken, prepare people for that at least. I get you can't go BECOME UNGOVERNABLE REEEE on youtube, of course.

If you find an unregistered machine gun you shouldn't tell anyone, not even family.

I mean look at what happened to these poor guys:

How any of this is a crime you tell me, but the big takeaway is they were dimed out by a neighbor.
Yeah, I mean that's what I would do.

Neighbors are finks all too often. Family will turn you in for the dumbest shit too. Not even a gun thing, just life advice.

ETA: Wow, that article is faggy too. Kindasorta implies they had an "operation" but looks like they just had a couple 80s. Though lol they didn't even spray paint the bare lower.

Karl got his hands on the new army rifle:

It'll be interesting to see what the reaction to this video is. On the one hand, Karl is a fag who obviously fixed the results somehow to make a rifle he doesn't like fail. On the other however, the Army can't do anything right and has obviously picked the wrong rifle to adopt.

It's less he fixed the results and just more pouting mud directly into any gun's ejection port is going to cause problems.

The reaction to this video from people who actually understand these "mud tests" should be the same as every other: that these videos are infotainment at most and not to be taken seriously. They're good at modeling very specific debris-related failure modes, but they're not realistic to the day to day operation of the guns, even in heavy mud conditions like Ukraine's rasputitsa/bezdorizhzhia. Not by any stretch. Most mud doesn't get poured onto the rifle from above, then patted down onto it, and then diluted further with water from above to make sure it gets everywhere. The guns are also usually cleaned in some way by the operators because you'll notice if you can't even reach the safety on your rifle through the dirt.

Governments and military procurement systems don't care, they're aware of the compromises that go into their equipment and they're fine with the soldiers paying for them on occasion. Everybody forgets the AK platform turned into a straight-pull bolt-action rifle when put through a milder version of that test, but it's not like Finland was bothered enough by it to drop the RK 62. The MCX might have many flaws, but Karl's (and Ian's, he's not off the hook here) mud tests aren't designed to be representative. They're designed to be visually dramatic and to favor extremely well-sealed actions, which may have their own issues that these tests don't display. They're like burying a Toyota Hilux up past the exhaust in dense mud and then being surprised the truck doesn't turn on anymore even though it's supposed to be "good off-road".

If they really wanted a standardized test they'd just be opening the guns up and dumping a full can of Chef Boyardee beef ravioli into the action before trying to get it to cycle. I'm pretty sure Karl isn't a mudoligist and isn't keeping the mud consistency the same across tests which is probably the reason the AK failed in that one test.

This is the kind of content I like seeing him make.

Sure, and these aren't scientific tests in the least, but I'll always be a smug little fag about how a good old Colt SP1 passed this ridiculous and unscientific mud test with flying colors.

I noticed you didn't answer my question here....

I can’t imagine holding a conversation with any of these creatures let alone mating with them. Peeling the skin off my own face is a more appealing idea.

Leia Botkin kind of looks like the informant the ATF tried to honey pot me with a decade ago. Their techniques may have worked on a normie but I don’t fall for this shit.
