Brazil and Mexico have very draconian gun laws. for people legally it's very hard to get a gun. These countries incidentally have a higher then average homicide rate then the US.

Second disarming people makes more mass shootings. Mass shooters choose to go after gun free zones and kill their victims before the police respond. Even a musket has a faster reload time then police can usually every respond to a mass shooting.

Mandates for people who work with the high-risk populations are fine, it's just a job requirement at that point. They can make you lift 50 pounds, have previous education, take a drug test, for a job, so it's within reason to do this for certain jobs.

I have guns and don't care much about the debate around it. They won't take anything useful from me, I suppose if you're scraping by and can't afford insurance, or if you don't have a clean record, or haven't already bought what you'd want, you might take issue.
