I think people are forgetting that there's a lot of precedent for this
The Shadow of Colossus remake got a full priced special edition on the PS4 and that's a PS2 game
Demon's Souls remake was full priced on the PS5 and that's a PS3 game
Skyrim for PS5 released on the system as a full priced game and that was on the PS3
Here's the thing about those:
Demon's Souls never got a rerelease of any kind for the PS4, or any other platform. It was stuck on the PS3, and was over a decade old. I wouldn't say it's worth full price, but whatever, it's a lot more justified.
Skyrim gets relentlessly mocked for being rereleased constantly, too - but even the 10th anniversary edition's one of those PS4 & PS5 cross-buys
Shadow of the Colossus chugged on PS2, pushing the system, a remake was justified. TLOU1 didn't need a remake. Well, except to make it not poorly designed with a bad story and boring characters, but they're not doing that. It would take a reimagining to fix the game.
ttttttttthank you, I didn't know that myself
Seventy bucks for a single game is already pushing it no matter what we're discussing. That pricing is capital-F
Fucked, especially considering we're in a depression era. Have you seen
gas prices lately, motherfucka? Holy shit! The national average is popping
over five bucks a gallon now, and Neil Cuckman wants me to drop $70 on a game every single one of us have easily had the opportunity to buy on the PS4, often times cheap due to its pack-in status, where the big change is that the characters look 20 years older. LOOK, RIGHT HERE MOTHERFUCKER!
LOOK. https://www.gamestop.com/video-game...-of-us-remastered---playstation-4/102421.html EIGHT OF YOUR NEETBUX AND THE GAME IS YOURS. THAT SHIT RUNS ON ANY PS5 THAT IS NOT PHYSICALLY RETARDED.
Is it even worth bringing up just how ultrafucked The Last of Us Part 2 itself was? How that series is now known for the sequel's decadent diarrhea featuring a didactic disgusting dominatrix? Awkward sex scenes with a swole troon and a scene where you kill a dog or some shit? The Last of Us as a franchise is the last fuckin' thing the PlayStation brand needs right now. Even putting coomer anime shit front and center would cement it in a niche of very reliable, loyal customers. I'd still make fun of it, but I'd get the point. The Last of Us? This shit, though?
I hate the Antichrist. What else is there to say? It's a bad omen for the brand. It cements not only the fact that PlayStation's been heading down a bad path for a while, but showcases how there's no course correction any time soon. This shit ain't natural. Hell, it's bad for the rest of us that love to riff on PlayStation, because when the competition's not doing well, other game companies get complacent, and you end up with stupid shit like Nintendo's total unwillingness to revise the Joy-cons. It is in none of our best interests to have a major player falter like this, and Lord knows outsiders aren't happening at all. Ouya? Amico? Fuckin' SouljaGame? Those,
THOSE are the outsiders? And then you got Google Stadia and Amazon Luna, which I personally gave them both a fair shake because I like to be well-versed in everything gaming, and they fuckin'
suck ass because streaming
sucks ass. How the hell do megacorps that now own the entire world not do a better job than OnLive, an independent startup from over a decade ago?! It's like game streaming is a red herring designed to make sure the game industry flushes nice and smoothly down the shitter.
It's really fun to mock the major players in the game industry, and frankly, it's the best thing you can do in such a dismal time. The entire planet is severely ill right now. A forum started to mock a fat retard from Virginia has somehow become one of the only politically neutral nexuses of free speech on the entire planet. Every single bit of this shit is just a reminder of the Clown World Hell we all somehow ended up living through. Fuck your "there's a precedence though!!!" shit. Those resources could have gone towards something wonderful. Fuck The Last of Us, and fuck
everyone who likes that series after the second game.
