Disney have destroyed themselves and their last uptick of insanity from a business guy perspective is utterly baffling. I cannot understand how a company now marked as a "tech" company, would let its CEOs and staff operate so rashly.

You market shit to children and are now trying to peddle agendas where most caring parents would agree or disagree but ultimately it is their choice AS A FUCKING PARENT to censor what their child(ren) sees. This is a case of a corporation thinking it is too powerful but not understanding who is paying them. It wasn't 1%ers it was low-class and middle-class people.

I know their PR guy was recently fired but Jesus H Christ. Your staff is just there to voice the cool zany characters and market the movie.

It is affecting the quality of their work though because the last 3 years of films have just sucked themselves off.

  • Turning Red was fucking abysmal. It was so forgettable. has no charm and I cannot even remember any of the characters' names.
  • The Marvel movies have sucked after end game. They should have had a few years' hiatus and reorganized but no had to keep the hamster running around. Scarlet Johansson was handled so poorly too. That is one of your biggest stars and has faithfully obligated to all her contracts and you fuck her over by 10 million. In the end they treat their marvel staff like shit since RDJ left because he would flag them if they mistreated them. Also Scarlet hated Brie Larson and her SJW shit which I think they tried to punish her by paying her less out of spite and loopholes.
  • The Marvel series and movies are going to crash hard and they already are. Woke culture is meeting its endpoint as people are tired of it because guess what people don't like to be called racist. Loki was shit, Falcon was shit and Hawkeye was shit.
I honestly feel bad for the people who have been there for 20 or so years just trying to do a normal day's of work. They cannot leave because their CV is tarnished with Disney, an employer may think they are a liberal retard and they cannot state why because it's too political and could impact their job. If you work in finance, you could at least run because it's an apolitical job but any other department is fucked.

What gay kissing scene? Also it's probably going to be a two second background scene so they can edited out for foreign theaters.

Also if anyone wonders. Chris Evans has a gay brother, so in his deluded head he belives he has to constantly defend gay people when ever someone types faggot.
IIRC I think Buzz's black partner has a wife? It's probably just a quick peck on the lips or something. Easy to edit out.

"Lightyear" actor Chris Evans, who plays the titular role in Walt Disney’s new Pixar movie, has responded to critics who say the film’s kissing scene between two female characters pushes a pro-gay agenda. "The real truth is those people are idiots," Evans said during an interview with Reuters Television. "There's always going to be people who are afraid and unaware and trying to hold on to what was before. But those people die off like dinosaurs. I think the goal is to pay them no mind, march forward and embrace the growth that makes us human."

In the film, Evans voices the character Buzz Lightyear, whose story inspires an action figure by the same name in the "Toy Story" franchise. "Every time there’s been social advancement as we wake up, the American story, the human story is one of constant social awakening and growth and that’s what makes us good," Evans added.

This is all BlackRock's doing. They own shares in almost every company and demand the companies they have shares in comply with their ESG score bullshit to appease Larry Fink's guilty conscience. The thing is, going after that score alienates the customer base/the general public. We hate that performative woke shit and smell it a mile away like it's a giant pile of shit.

And Chris Evans needs to shut the fuck up, he's going to ruin Cap. How is it the actor for the superhero for freedom is a complete fart sniffing douche and the actor for the superhero who is scared of people with powers is the one who is based and gave a shit about his fellow actors?

Even if Disney would make actual good quality films instead of barely disguised nostalgia drive propaganda, they are in for a pounding by the recession. Not a lot of people will pay 10$ per person for seeing the same recoloured film and even fewer will buy 100$ of merchandise.

Though I wouldn't be surprised if the Biden admin will bail them out.

I know that Disney has always been a soulless husk of a company propped up by a few good movies but going from "Buzz Lightyear realizes he's just a toy, then proves he's more than that" to "Buzz Lightyear is a literal real life space ranger who meets Andy who is holding a Buzz Lightyear that is just a toy" is a little too soulless for me. The point was that the toys were real people god dammit.

Now you know how I feel.
This film contains things that would have never been in a 90s film, when Andy was young enough to enjoy it. Andy should clearly be middle-aged and complaining about how this newest reboot has turned Buzz Lightyear woke.
Poor Andy has become me, disillusioned and jaded by society's ills.

This doesn't even make sense on multiple levels because 1, it was an important plot point in Toy Story that Andy's mom only let him take ONE TOY out of the house at any time. And it was was, of course, always Woody. It's the catalyst for the series of events that leads them to Sid's house. So none of the other toys should even be there, especially the Pizza Planet aliens that Andy didn't even have at that time. And 2, the whole Buzz Lightyear thing was supposed to come out of left field for everyone, Woody included. Especially since none of them had seen anything like him before. Otherwise they'd be like "Oh, you're a toy based off of that thing, show us your laser and your wings" instead of impressed that such a toy could even exist.

Ever since I saw the trailer for Lightyear, I can't help but keep thinking about the Buzz Lightyear cartoon and how it had an ACTUAL diverse cast.

But if they used aliens instead of POC, how will Disney be able to show the world that it's progressive? Or have a passive-aggressive excuse ready if the movie bombs?

Also, if nothing else, Tim Allen should've gotten the role instead Chris Evans.

The first art seems to suggest the "all Pixar films are in the same universe" retarded idea is now canon (ie, Buzz is based on an actual person) because all the executive positions are likely filled by manchildren, and in general is just looking derpy since Buzz's design is supposed to be retro scifi.
The second art is just aweful. All the humans look like monkey hybrids, I can't even understand if Andy is grown up or a child, his position looks like he is floating over the seat while sitting cross legged in a completely cramped area with the toy soldiers levitating off the ground.

Funny thing is, that only got started because back when their budget was a lot smaller it was cheaper for them to refuse already fully created set pieces for A Bugs Life (especially for just a short shot) so they slapped the Pizza Planet truck next to the dirty old trailer. Then they thought it'd be amusing to have the A Bugs Life bugs cameo in Toy Story 2 and have Randall end up in the trailer from A Bugs Life (that the Pizza Planet truck is parked next to). And at the same time thought it might be fun to throw in a little reference to their next upcoming movie. And now you have people actually plotting out the "Pixar timeline" like how people do with Zelda games.

But my previous post was spent detailing how a promotional art piece is factually impossible for Toy Story so I'm not the best one to ask.

The only thing that would have been a big no no was that "queer kiss" (they wouldn't even call it that because back then queer either was slang for gay or an old person's word for weird) and they're be less attention drawn to the fact that buzz's Co is a black woman. It would have been a minor detail that nobody would care about. Well that plus the female characters would look like actual women.

Allen's better at playing comically overblown and overconfident buffoons, whereas this movie seems to be going for a more outrightly heroic take on Buzz, so from that perspective casting an actor known for playing one of the more earnest superheroes out there actually does make a certain kind of sense.

However, I have zero intention of giving Disney the benefit of the doubt, so I'm going to assume this was just them straight-up cancelling Allen.

Galaxy Quest was probably the closest Tim Allen ever got to playing a heroic character the traditional way. Well, that and Zoom which was about actual superheroes, but nobody remembers or even liked Zoom.

Isn't Tim getting a new Santa Clause series for D+ with complete creative control? I wouldn't trust Disney as far as I can throw them, but this really does seem like "a different voice for a different tone" more than anything.
