Heretics game mode sucks and every change from the author makes it shittier. There's a lot of shit you need to know and a lot of items that you MUST have before you get started. A lot of items/spells are completely useless, like curses and pretty much any item. A lot of these techs are noobie traps and completely pointess. The rounds devolve into hide-and-seek against a dude with a minor cult-stun. The author fails to understand this and the updates add new gimmicks that are either completely useless or powercreep everything else.

It's just sad how many people can't play without constant admin overseers to come in and enforce 'proper escalation' or whatnot.

Most people play to do their stupid SS13 jobs; why would you do that? Everything gets reset in an hour. SS13 is all about player interaction and antagonists; without these it's just a boring job simulator and there are better job sims for pretty much any field.

SS13 is most fun when you're on a green shift but griefing is allowed (with a low bomb cap). If people can't outright detonate the entire station then they throw meth bombs at each other and make punji traps or shocked grates in the maintenance hallways.

Only reason I've ever stuck to "just doing my job" is because I'm learning and/or familiarizing myself once again with the game after spending a long time not playing it.

I suppose you could see this being all the more the case with HRP given that it's full of unrobust crybabies.

if you arent using the greyshirt as a way to not only learn the game, but also learn to be a massive fucking nuisance on your own, then im going to crush your neck

People tend to take exception to a greyshitter actually trying to assist with other jobs, though.

About 3-4 years ago; I would've been delighted about this news regarding Orange (even if it doesn't mean much outside of a discord ban), but nowadays its like stomping on a cockroach just to realize that the entire house needs fumigation. It amazes me how bad things keep getting for that place.

I wonder how /tg/ and bay got this bad man. Bay is like watching paint dry in the house of commons with the admins as the posher MPs and you as a lowly pleb.

All it takes is one individual from the attention whoring mental illneess spectrum to create a suitable environment for infestation if they so happen to have any form of moderation power. This was well known with furfags in the 2000's, same goes for troons today.

Nah they leak into MRP too, and they're fucking unbearable. Usually science mains lock themselves in the little rooms and screech like retards when anyone but their meta-buddies come in.

Imagine if amogus culture was people doing the shitty minigames and ahelping whenever a imposter offs you.
Each persons job is there to keep the station functioning. If every department didn't do their job, then the game would be boring as piss. Because there's nothing for the traitor to fuck with. Most of the jobs have at least some fun minigames in them, even if it's just autism projecting
People forget SS13 is about antags, not about jobs. If you're not an antag, you're basically a NPC for other people.

I mean. Sort of? Non antags are there to do shit and have fun for sure; but the station is designed around conflict. It's not a design flaw that science needs mining to function, or that security is miles away from anywhere it's actually needed.

Antags are the most direct form that conflict takes. But it can also be a spiteful doctor refusing to help someone, and the person attacks the doctor. SS13 is a game that runs on the chaos inherent in any system where people need people. It's why it's such a good game. It's why I hate the whole 'proper escalation' bollocks. Trying to regulate chaos is dumb. Set up the dominos, let them fall how they fall.

In most MRP servers, an admin would but in and tell you to do your job, unless you want to be job-banned. Most servers now feel less about chaos and more about following strict rules, and it's so fucking tedious. Even traitors don't feel fun on those servers; you have to do your objectives and are not allowed to kill anyone if your objectives don't require you to. Getting round-removed is such a big deal for some people because they just want to do their autistic minigames over and over again.

And it's the best stealth/combat game because you're facing off against human opponents and every encounter is different. And outright bad game design works because it's focused on player interaction.

Oh, I'm aware, but stories don't tend to revolve around how MRP is "full of unrobust whiners" (even though a lot of retards are just as ahelp happy as you said) – it's usually a mix and generally the most chaotic between the two.

Also, MRP doesn't exist, stop bullshitting.
