Western Animation - Discuss American, Canadian, and European cartoons here (or just bitch about wokeshit, I guess)

It always felt like it was trying to be CN’s answer to Ren & Stimpy,
That's because practically everyone who was on Ren and Stimpy was there too. It was, essentially, a reunion of all the guys who made that show great... with one big exception who the show was better off without.

When I met Bob Camp at a con a few years back he remembered the experience as very positive. He got along with everybody, and it was fun to work on - especially the Weasel shorts.

I.M. Weasel was decent IIRC, mostly down to Michael Dorn chewing the scenery.

Have you ever heard Michael Dorn say "I! Am! WEASEL!" in person? Not to brag, but I have.

There were some very brilliant episodes of that one, many the work of Maxwell Atoms. (He recalls that it was "The Magnificent Motorbikini," in which Weasel creates a motorbike-swimwear hybrid and winds up in a dimension populated by talking hams, that got him the offer to make a pilot for the Big Pick.)

100% unsurprised that Craig of the Creek was made by two White dudes. No black person would be gay enough to represent themselves as *that*.
Some underaged twink (tv executive moment) with big niggo lips. That buck broken bitch wouldn't last 5 seconds in the hood.

Damn. It's beautiful.
Imagine a modern cartoonist being able to fucking draw...
Honselty the one show Cartoon Network had that was created by a black man that was ok was OK Ko: Lets be heroes. And they canceled it and didn't even use the character for their cringy BLM propaganda. Which is ironic.

OK KO had a whole multimedia angle planned for it too. It just never really took off in the same way other 2010's shows did.

Sad what happened with Close enough. It was the first time in a while we had an adult cartoon that didn’t rely on excessive profanity and dick jokes or voice actors that always sounded hammered.
tom kenny sounded so depressed when he voiced woodie/kevins dad on brickleberry/paradise pd. like hes not a shakesperian actor so its not as bad patrick steward voicing litteral shit in the emoji movie, but the sounds so much happier playing spongebob. The role may be more juvenile and childish, but it's still more dignified than singing a song litteraly called ''butt buddies .''

I know I've only seen clips of this show, but it just feels like its nothing, but representation and little else.
The show seems to be about kids playing pretend, the "creek" is basically where they all meet up for their LARP sessions. Some episodes have animated shorts that show what goes on in their mind or a fake TV show, notable examples being the ginger girl and the native girl in some fantasy dungeon. Most of these shorts are honestly more interesting than the show itself.

As for the statement on diveristy, there is a wide variety of cultures and ethnicities represented, except it feels like they googled some random country and picked off the first five fun facts on National Geographic. This results in most characters being walking stereotypes, like the Japanese kid being a weeb.

PPG and Fosters are both getting animated reboots helmed by Craig.

Edit:
Looks like the Fosters thing is a pre-school show with a new cast. PPG seems like its expanding on the OG series.

 THE FLYING FUCK?! IT'S BAD ENOUGH THAT THEY'RE DOING ANOTHER ONE OF PPG, BUT NOW FOSTER'S IS GETTING RAPED BY LEFTIST WIGNATS TOO -
helmed by Craig.
:|Oh. Well, firstly, took them long enough to get the original creator involved. If you have to do a reboot at all, that is the best way to go about it. Although, this slightly worries me:

Why am I suddenly getting flashbacks to Total DramaRama? :(
