While I didn't watch all of the stream, the bits I caught usually involved him having a segment explaining why he can't (won't) get rid of it. The box for his old second PC would have to be sorted out because it has polystyrene in it and the PC would have to be factory reset but he makes it sound like an exhaustive task that he just doesn't have time for, a full display of horder mentality of his own mental gymnastics as to why he can't even throw out an old box and packing material.

I don't expect a confession, but I do agree this casts some doubt on the idea that Phil is aware of the risk he is taking.

Yeah, he doesn't know. His refusal to confess is about Kat, it no longer makes sense for him to worry about his fans. They turn out when he actually tickles their fancy, and he just happens to be doing that less often these days.

YT Gaming and Streaming is in a weird spot, and has been since inception, department execs leaving faster than they can be replaced, mostly for greener pastures in crypto, NFT, mobile and "metaverse"/digital real estate projects (which the Doc himself is also guilty of)

if Doc wants someone at YT to kiss his ass, he needs to go East and start playing PUBG mobile for the indian national esports team, (the sentiment being to do something new with seemingly uncapped potential), the Doc (much like DSP) is stuck in a stagnant, volatile trend from 2013, i'm not saying streaming is dead, but it's not the Wolverine toy that it once was

Streaming has peaked, the ceiling was previously unknown so there was a lot more investment, (time & $$$ wise), but now the ROI isn't as favourable as it used to be, gone are they days of loss-making decisions to hopefully increase market share, liability is just easier to calculate now than it was before

well that's the $$$ side of why YT don't care (not specifically about the Doc, but YT Gaming/Streaming as a whole), and then there's the entire #woke side of YT, it could be as simple as execs suggesting the whites (being the YT Gaming team) not fratonise with mudbloods (being streamers with higher liability than others)

Those statues were never in the closet. If anything he never moved them from the spare room he shoved them into when he first moved.

This whole thing shows how Phil is terrible with self control. He will buy things just to have them and anything he gets he just shoves somewhere out of sight and forgets he even had it. This is basic hoarder behavior. I'm sure most people bought things they didn't know what to do with, but a junk drawer full of random shit isn't the same as a junk CLOSET.

His game segment is what gets me. Find a retro console or console emulator, an HDMI conversion cable, and fucking play them. As Tevin said, most of the games he has feels like he just bought them at a swap meet to have them for "value" and not actually touch them...and they're sitting in a bin in his closet that he forgot about.

And it's not even because he can't throw anything out. It's his need to feel like he's better than you, I guarantee you that he would be showing this stuff off more, like he used to, if he wasn't trying to run a scam. And he doesn't value it beyond that purpose, largely because money has never eluded his grasp.

I look forward to seeing him enter those uncharted waters one day. Phil attempting to pigsplain how it's not pathetic for a man pushing 50 with a 20 Year Legacy to be legit struggling is going to feel better than a massage.
