There's a frightening level of disconnect when it comes to hipster power fantasies like WD2 and this game. Committing violent crimes is A-OK but don't you DARE make people have to pay student loans or misgender someone. Granted, your character does some pretty heinous shit in the original series but the writer had the decency to acknowledge that your character is a violent thug. You're never really in the right morally speaking because at the end of the day, you're criminal fighting against other criminals.

This might be even worse than WD2. At least WD2 had some self-awareness about itself, & was actually fun to play. Only the story was shit. Here? Everything is shit.

So if you were wondering why the original r/SaintsRow sub went from generally being pretty "meh" and critical of the reboot after the first trailer release, to absolutely fellating Volition and anyone adjacent, now we know. It was both a concerted effort at brigading by retarded An-Coms from r/GamingCircleJerk, and an effort by the devs to implant their own jannies on the sub so they could remove any criticism. If these jannies were actually being fucking paid for their "work", it's definitely a new low. They had to pay jannies to moderate an organic message board that they didn't even create in the first place just to make their game look less like ballsack. And somehow, they're not ashamed, they still put their fucking usernames in the credits.

I knew Reddit was astroturfed to shit and figured most of them were paid shills but I absolutely did not expect to find jannies in the fucking end credits. Who the fuck knows who else they might've paid off?

Between this shit and all of the fucking snarky reaction gif, "haters gonna hate!" shit on Twitter, they were really expecting social media to sell this game for them and I am enjoying watching this shit implode and get reamed. They were absolutely certain that this game would sell well between social media astroturfing and outright insulting long-time fans of the series and now they're rightfully getting fucked in the ass.

I fucking knew they were astroturfing. And these are just the confirmed circlejerks, the YT comments of some have so much copium & shilling it shows too blatantly.

Sunset Overdrive had something like this, only Insomniac was smart enough to have the player character treat that group like a bunch of lunatics and be incredibly sarcastic to them (they were a fantasy group, not post-apocalyptic like these clowns). And during their final mission, they had the sense to cut the shit & use guns against the raiders that took over their old base.

To see Saints Row, a series that once took the piss out of everything, treat this so sincerely deeply saddens me.

As cynical as so many Kiwis get about games, there are still a plethora of great ones available. Even if money's not a problem, why waste your time on something subpar? If you want a new game for your PS4, I'll gladly recommend:

• Yakuza 0
• Yakuza: Like a Dragon
• Judgment
• Dragon Quest XI
• Spelunky 2
• Bloodborne
• Persona 5
• Doom Eternal

These are just a smattering of games I've enjoyed over the past couple of years, and they're all on PS4. If you have any interest in any of those, and haven't played them, then I'd highly recommend you check them out instead.

it's actually a glitch, if you change your nipple size and go back the censor ticks on even if you disabled it.
and the difficulty is all over the place, i'm playing on normal and enemies melt me in seconds, then again i'm using auto aim on journo mode which is literally hold RMB and move mouse slightly near a enemy which will lock at them hard then hold lmb until headshot...

Yeah, customization sometimes resets, that's the glitch. Showing nipples is literally a toggle and it's literally right there.

Edit: before anybody asks, no, you can't hang dong.

Another one: while I'm at it the texture popin is noticable even on max shit, people will t-pose on motorcycles when they first spawn in and most of the "difficulty" we'll call it charitably is from continuous spawning waves, much like the button->awesome game itself Dragon Age 2. in the wild you can take out the people with the phone symbol calling for backup much like in much better games I won't mention, in a mission fuck you, waves and waves it is.

No, it does, it's called lock on and it has three different settings for how it behaves, if you like that kind of thing I would actually call that very customizable.

It does let you do that in activities and it was great fun to mount a magnet to a helicopter and "repossess" shit from around town but there's no organic just point gun at shit and rob. There's not too many actual shops around anyway and I don't recall the old games letting you do it either but there it is.


This is one of the parts of the game, possibly the only one I have zero complaints about, they do let you fine tune that shit a bunch.

Edit: There are some random crime spots where you can do various crimes of opportunity that spawn around the map you can just wander into I forgot about.

Yeah, it tells you in the tutorial that you can't take down shielded enemies, as for it being finicky, I can't say that I ever had a problem with it, my takedown's charged, there's a non shielded fuck there, I push button, it plays the way too long takedown animation while everybody else just waits their turn I guess, I get health. Not a lot of health mind but it works as advertised even if I meant to interact with something else because I guess keyboards these days have notoriously few keys to use.

Yeah, you can't just charge in and take out everybody in the room, there are some skills later on that sound like they do that and the early skills are kind of awful for that purpose and the game will absolutely spawn enemies behind you and be a dick about it but that's a design choice you can very much adapt to, not something that's a bug. Can always turn down enemy health or whatever if you'd rather just mow down tons of fuckers. Mind you I'm not saying that combat is even good, gunplay sucks, melee sucks, that's not something you can just toggle either, they very much do need to fix controls and AI but the problems you describe I have simply not encountered at all.

I genuinely would not be surprised if this is a new rule on Metacritic to try and prevent reviewbombs on release week. After shit like Warcraft III: Reforged plummeting to #1 lowest reviewed game on the site within a couple of days of release, I would expect them to try and prevent PR like that again. No part of it could be that they were thinking that because it would be censored that they didn’t have to work very hard on titty art. However I also think that the entire build of women ingame looks very masculine and maybe they got into a weird purity spiral about over feminizing or over masculinizing men so they kind of went in the middle with a slightly masculine gender blob for women. Men in the game also look weird. Their legs look very feminine.
