Infected RationalWiki - Whiny hugbox for spergs and a clusterfuck of neverending drama on a rapidly declining website.

Because David Gerard will make your account disappear if you point out how freakish it is that Ryulong has been endlessly protected by him.
Yeah, I get the impression a lot of them hate his guts as much as everyone else does but David is protecting the little goblin for reasons know only to himself (spite mostly and having some unlikable attack dog is deemed useful if I where to guess), best guess is about40-70% of the people in Rational wiki would just like to be rid of him so they can go back to their little circle jerk in peace.

Manchild David Gerard joins in with Cuckstain and Ben Wright on this lawyer thing.

The best part is the edit attached to that snarky little summary was wrong and soon afterwards reverted by Queex. Looks like somebody does agree with him, David, you wobbleheaded retard.

The Devil's Advocate is gonna be a great source of drama in the future. Dude is autistic and implacable and never seems to lose his cool. From what I've seen of him following OG Ryulong drama on wikipedia he just goes from article to article disagreeing with people and never letting up. RationalWiki is reluctant to ban people, so they rely on unbridled hostility to drive out wrongthinkers ; and Devil's Advocate gives zero shits about that. He's going to be driving these faggots into conniptions right up until they make up a reason to ban him (which FCP will probably undo, giving us more delicious salt)

A devils advocate is traditionally a pedantic bastard who goes out of his way to test the arguments of others for fallacies, inconsistentcies and weakness. I can't imagine why rational wiki would find one difficult.

This is going to be great- how long before they ban for 'concern trolling' ?

Their tech guy (Nx) quit back in February of 2014, and since then they've been stumbling along with a very old MediaWiki installation. Judging by the Apache version, Gerard has at least mastered the complexities of updating Ubuntu:

sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get upgrade

Nx returned this month, so we may be seeing some updates to their MediaWiki installation.

I doubt it, but we'll see.

Look at the history of Nx's user page btw. Tolerance for bullying is not a new thing on RationalWiki.

It also wouldn't be the first time someone had to demonstrate a security problem to force an upgrade.

There used to be a test wiki (http://rationalbeta.com) but that stopped working long ago. No one knows why.

I spent hours setting up a test environment and testing a replacement for the outdated DPL extension RW uses that has a number of problems. It worked great! All David had to do was extract a archive and update one line in a file. Do you think it ever got done? Do you think I ever got the basic fucking decency of even an acknowledgement? Nope. My greatest success has been a disinterested shrug.

Did we ever see a single other user report that this "glitch" had happened to them outside of the three wrongthinkers? I don't remember any.

Nope. What's amusingly suspicious is the surprisingly evasive denial anything wrong occurred. And how Geth described how the accounts in question could be screwed over with database fuckery, I set up a localhost MediaWiki install to replicate the methods he described, and they had the exact same effects as the account oopsies effected by Gerard.

TDA continues to trawl for some eeks and ooks. (How fast would Michael Cohen be back if TDA was talking about the pedophile Nicholas Nyberg or the $20,000 speaking fee Aneeda?) http://rationalwiki.org/w/index.php...rgate&curid=169714&diff=1633493&oldid=1633351

For the record, I don't think allowing both sides of a situation to be mentioned when attacking a named individual is merely "splitting hairs", but is instead a rather serious thing that should be treated seriously.--The Devil's Advocate (talk) 01:12, 27 February 2016 (UTC)

Manbaby Gerard tries to counter with a 'We Hunted the Mammoth' link: http://rationalwiki.org/w/index.php...rgate&curid=169714&diff=1633499&oldid=1633496

:::Given the Honey Badges was really obviously another right-wing affinity fraud ([http://www.wehuntedthemammoth.com/2...lly-money-grubbing-weasels-ex-badger-charges/ and more on this just today), he sounds from the bar's opinion to be just the man for the job - [[User:biggrin:avid Gerard|David Gerard]] ([[User talk:biggrin:avid Gerard|talk]]) 01:15, 27 February 2016 (UTC)

I guess I shouldn't be surprised that someone who would cite a partisan blog post based off a disgruntled employee's complaints as rock-solid proof of a serious criminal act would not see a problem with the issue I am talking about, but most people who have any sense of fairness would recognize that giving both sides of a story is important and proper.--The Devil's Advocate (talk) 01:48, 27 February 2016 (UTC)

Meanwhile, another sperg says the Westboro Baptist Church is going to picket his school and he doesn't know what to do. http://rationalwiki.org/wiki/RationalWiki:Saloon_bar#Westboro.27s_at_it_again

So apparently they decided to picket my school. It's even on the Kansas chapter's home page. godhatesfags.com.

I need some help on this. I don't know where else to go, and I'm drifting between not causing a scene and going there and confronting them (which is not the brightest idea.). Ɀexcoiler Кingbolt Noooooooo! Look! Up there! 19:50, 26 February 2016 (UTC)

A significant portion of the asylum patients simply don't appreciate it when someone with relatively rare skills is doing something for them. It's been that way for a long time. It'll be interesting to see if Nx sticks around or if he came in to fix things as a favour to Trent. I don't imagine he'll stick around too long if he has any sense. Gerard is useless, as repeatedly demonstrated. When technical stuff breaks, he can reboot a server and do some basic things. Anything serious happens and RW is sunk. It's like watching fucking ISIS primates, unable to create or repair, relying on someone stopping by every now and then to fix the shit they break.

I'm left wondering what kind of future this site can have? Human all but admitted the foundation is merely a shield against personal litigation and has been barely meeting its obligations as a 501(c)3. Any protections they think they have could be picked apart by a lawyer who takes a closer look at its workings. They pissed off the only lawyer I'm aware of being an RW user, and he rage quit the place some time back.

You mean Mona?

You mean Mona?

No, a user older than that. NuttyRoux. He left in March 2015 after an argument over a legal threat. Someone named Leonard Caldwell was unhappy with his RW article, and either him or his lawyer had expressed their concerns on RW. A nuisance lawsuit was filed against Trent and the foundation. NuttyRoux was pissed because the patients were not taking it seriously and had been reverting comments supposedly posted by Caldwell and his lawyer. Given Caldwell's past, it's quite possible that Caldwell's lawyer was a sock of Caldwell. Certainly it wouldn't be difficult for Caldwell to add some law degrees to his online shopping cart when he next goes shopping for some new medical degrees. See https://archive.is/gl4SM

I can understand him wanting to step away from this mess, and I'm glad he did.

Seriously? A bunk 501(c)(3), too? Gerard is really taking his efforts to turn into L. Ron Hubbard seriously.

No but he fucks little boys in the asshole.

Here's the Saloon Bar thread in question.--Kugelschreiber (talk) (mail) (block) 12:47, 26 February 2016 (UTC) 12:47, 26 February 2016 (UTC)

Hardly a conclusive result, and it did not involve a quorum of RW editors in good standing. Whether he knows it or not, Weaseloid has earned my trust. I cannot say the same about recent arrivals who are apparently grinding the same axe as Avenger did. CamelCasePragmatist (talk) 13:34, 26 February 2016 (UTC)

It's encouraging to see reasonable people rejecting a prohibition on using EI as a source. I explained here why it's a perfectly acceptable journalistic outlet. As I peruse various actions/edits here in the last month I feel pretty good about the place. And no, I'm not saying I'm "back." So for those who'd welcome that, and the likely majority who would not, stay calm.---Mona- (talk) 21:11, 27 February 2016 (UTC)
