Nice to be back fellas, I missed chatting with you autists. I even *almost* missed Moira. (Not really)

To his credit, that thread would have been like 5 pages without him. It'd just be posts like "wow the PS5 sure is underwhelming and hard to buy" and "lmao The Last of Us". He really encouraged everyone to put their full ass into their posts and look close enough to notice that the whole PlayStation brand is kind of a lolcow now. Steam Deck's the biggest thing in gaming right now. Nintendo's doing their own thing. Xbox has a crappier-tier modern system you can just buy at Walmart, and its become easier to get a Series X. The entire industry's changing, and Sony's getting left behind.Nice to be back fellas, I missed chatting with you autists. I even *almost* missed Moira. (Not really)
I quite like Final Fantasy XII. I played through it two years ago (I think) on the PS2 and it was a rockin' good time.Just started up on FF12 for the third time and luckily it's the Zodiac age. When I first tried to play this one a couple times it just didn't click. I guess I was looking for an MMO feeling without having to be social or queue up with retards. For some reason, I'm actually enjoying this much more than any other time before.

kinda makes sense. wasnt like they handled the whole console thing very well since the original xbox launch. didnt even make sense for them to even get into the console market. only reason they did was because they thought sony would use linux on the ps2 and they were afraid of linux taking over as a mainstream osMircosoft is no longer in the business of selling consoles, they are selling a service. The Gamepass is were the money is at,
Well they were completely correct in that assumption, both PS5 and switch use FreeBSD and still run better than Xboxs' psudeo windows thing that runs like complete ass.kinda makes sense. wasnt like they handled the whole console thing very well since the original xbox launch. didnt even make sense for them to even get into the console market. only reason they did was because they thought sony would use linux on the ps2 and they were afraid of linux taking over as a mainstream os
Yeah, more or less. Their marketing implies Xbox as their entire gaming platform, and the set-top boxes are dedicated machines you can enjoy Xbox games on if you don't have a powerful Windows PC and just want a home theater gaming experience. Though there are still a few games on Xbox but not PC, like Judgment and its sequel, though those aren't brought up due to not being exclusives.Mircosoft is no longer in the business of selling consoles, they are selling a service. The Gamepass is were the money is at, Sony can keep the console market. Everyone is using Windows anyway, just force it down peoples throat with Win 11 insane adware.
"Oh that game is on the Gamepass, just pay for one month. It's no big deal, you can turn it off anytime you want! Oh me? No I haven't turned off my subscription in 4 years, just haven't got around to it."
Jeez. I'd figure Xenoblade 1 would be a game I could stroll on down to Walmart and buy for like $20 by now. That shit sucks.>Nintendo doing their own thing.
Those assholes sure are. I know this isn't new with companies ripping people off but Nintendo is the worst by far, it's overlooked for them way more than the others.
I wanted to play the Xenoblade games the other day, dusted off switch and went down to the local game retailer.
"Do you have any of the previous Xenoblade games?" .
"Not a single one in the entire state, they limit production of games to keep their value the same as if they were new anyway. Just download it man"
Go online, see every game is still at full price.
Realize this thing's online support is going to be on the chopping block within a few years of their new console.
But who cares! They got fucking Banjo and Sephiroth in smash! Only Nintendo would come through for the fans in such a way! Truly a champion of the gaming industry!
Unreal Engine and it's "Coding Standards"
f_ck Nintendo. em_late.>The whole Playstation brand is kind of a lolcow now.
I bet their margins would be still pretty fat in Asia, they got a massive slice of Japan and China. Do you think the Chinese are going to want to play The last of us? They want to use their money to pay for skins in widescreen Genshin impact and other F2Ps.

It's not that strange. I work on the Ruby codebase and it's policy that Unit 731 didn't happen but it was acceptable.
Hmm, I have that game, but don't remember seeing those scenarios. Are you using a mod?
It's been a while since I've played. Maybe I'll give that a spin tonight.
If I time traveled back to the early 90s as myself today, but couldn't bring any technology, I'd imagine I'd have a hell of a time bringing a giant-ass, fragile, very expensive (~$1000) VHS camcorder into Toys R Us, and making it all the way to the game aisle to film their inventory. Employees all getting in your face telling you that you can't film in there, being suspicious that you're filming for a competitor, all kinds of problems. The only way I could think to get away with that is if you were with your family and you wanted to film your kid picking out a game for his birthday or something.Feeling a bit nostalgic I looked through my favorites on YouTube and I found this video I watched a few years ago. There was another one but I can't find it right now. It's one of the video game aisles from a Toys R Us. It's the Genesis/Mega Drive aisle. Check out the prices on those games. Phantasy Star II is $80.
These videos are cool and pretty rare. No one thought to take a camera with them to take pictures or make videos of them because people never thought these places would disappear. Toys R Us will always be around they said to themselves. Also cameras were big and bulky back then.
A lot of my early video games still came from Toys R Us. It's where I got my NES SNES Genesis PS1 and my launch PS2.
My dad had one but he bought it from someone else at a much cheaper price. I think it was from the very late 80's. I just remember it came in a big ass case and was pretty heavy and you had to hold it on your shoulder. It looked like something a news crew would have. It was an RCA model and it was grey and black. I remember it didn't get used much because it was too heavy and my dad didn't like carrying it around. We only had it for a few years and only made 4 VHS tapes. It got pawned and my dad never went back to get it. People with smartphones these days will never know the struggle.
