I know it's laughable but hear me out: it likely would be mutually beneficial for them to establish a line of communication, however infrequently used. There are many similar relationships which would work to form a more sturdy bulwark against the anti-civilizational force we're dealing with, and they know this, and therefore make it obvious that they are more than willing to firebomb civilian populations to prevent the ability of people they don't like to organize or even communicate without repercussion. People often don't want to comprehend just how tyrannical a system they live under is; organizations they would want to join are frequently prevented from existing, and the deliberate human will being imposed on them only needs one or two degrees of plausible deniability for them to pretend there's no human agency involved at all, and, due to a pitiable nature they've been induced to have, often abdicate their own ability to oppose it.
Relevance is relative. People with power go to immense lengths to convince others that life is somehow not a zero-sum game purely to obfuscate their own command of their parts of zero-sum pies. Relevance is relative, and is a very important political tool in our fake and gay system, and is of course zero-sum. Giving relevance to others takes away their own. I believe most people have an instinctive understanding of this, even if they're the type to spew duplicitous nonsense.

Thing is, Elon was already in talks with these groups about moderation. Sounds like they may have fucked themselves because Elon jsut nuked half of the twitter staff including the moderation team.

that's pretty much standard, because it's almost always a bad idea to grant disgruntled employees you just fired access to (critical) infrastructure.
hence the "have security escort you out of the building" - they gonna watch you clean out your desk, put all that shit in a box, maybe say goodbye to your team, than get dumped at the front door.
heck in my job we didn't even have 2 weeks notice because of that, the minute you announce to resign almost everything was deactivated, and since you couldn't work anymore you were send home and could enjoy an unpaid vacation.
