What game did you finish today?

I don't really agree mostly because of how Planescape Torment's gameplay was always sub par.

I remember one problem I had with the game for the longest time was how you were considered "playing it wrong" if you got into any combat.

I don't know about Torment's gameplay being subpar, personally. While most of quests using brains over brawn was usually more rewarding as far as both experience point and storytelling goes, you still had lots of places where you could fight to your heart's content: the thugs at sigil, the undead and other monsters in the mortuary and Dead Nations catacombs, Undersigil, Crust, the epic ass fight in canceri where you could save civilians from grendels, Ravel's maze, the battle against Trias, Fortress of Regrets, I could go on. You could battle and grind all you'd want but mostly it wasn't necessary, which was refreshing compared to your standard RPG fare. The Battle system was also pretty much the same as BG, but with quirkier spells, a much more confortable interface and instant magic incantations.

Just got done with Trails in the Sky: First Chapter.

Time to vent.

I would have enjoyed the final boss more if the second phase didn't force me to use almost all of my good healing items and then didn#t even bother healing me up for the third phase, leaving me with two characters that were almost dead.

Like, Richard was already enough of a pain in the ass with his Donkey Missile/AA Canceller spammers, but then the Ring Guardian shows up, one part of it doesn't take any damage from attacks or crafts, the other none whatsoever from arts, THEN the fucking bastards decide to fuse together and get an attack that instantly kills anything it touches, not to mention you can't have any arts processing when the big guy gets his turn because he now has an AA Canceller that hits your entire goddamn party... even when I figured out a working strategy, that battle lasted way longer than it needed to me.

At least it let me spam S-Breaks once it was all done.

I did not expect the main mission of Ground Zeroes to be less than 2 hours, lol, but there's at least the Side/Extra Ops and I'm probably going to aim for a better rank in the main one. I'm pretty confident that I'm going to get Phantom Benis at some point too.

If you do the side ops with the anti-air guns, remember this method:

Just finished up Stranger's Wrath again.

Been on a bit of an Oddworld kick lately.

Finally beaten Condemned Criminal Origins. Now if only the sequel was ported to PC.

Was thinking of completing AVGN Adventures but decided to beat Metal Slug 3 instead.

Really great game and now aiming to complete it.

I love that game so much. What a creative adventure :)

As for me, I'm replaying Amnesia: The Dark Descent. The atmosphere is chilling, even more so when you can only run and hide (like in Haunting Ground).

That's basically the best way to do that fast, because stopping to plant C4 at the AA Guns would just slow you down. And yeah, I replayed Ground Zeroes main mission today, took much less time this time around and got a way better rank because I knew where to go and only killed the bare minimum of people.

Didn't finish it today, about a week ago, but I 100% finished Super Mario Sunshine.

Although it's not technically beaten, I've played the hell out of the latest Hitman game, or at least as much of what has been released thus far, gotten full mission mastery on Paris, and maxed out the achievements. And frankly- I love this game. Even though I have essentially seen it all by now, I'm still going back to try out different approaches, beat the crap out of people's contracts. Looking forward to playing the next level. I'm disappointed I can't play it right NOW, but the anticipation makes this all the more satisfying.

You don't really "finish" EU4, but I finished a playthrough of it today. Probably the most fun I've had playing this game.

I played as Prussia to toy with some of the new mechanics since I haven't played in at least a year, figuring it was easy. And it wasn't. Bohemia and "Danemark" are marches (seriously, that system might be the best thing ever). Managed to dismantle the HRE after Emperorship was passed from OPM to OPM to Norway, of all things, when a woman was made King of Austria.

But it was a pretty tense game for a lot of it. I started with an aggressive Poland and then once the Ottomans took them out, I had them to deal with. I supported Sweden's independence and they turned around and declared me a rival once they won and started gunning for northern Germany (seriously, they had claims on like...everything on the Baltic coast). Russia was a bro and helped and I managed to keep peaceable relations with Austria through the first 2/3rds of the game for some reason despite all my annexing and HRE-member-eating. There was a point in the game where every major European power save Russia had declared me a rival all at once. Was kinda scary, to be honest.

I'm actually considering modding to continue the game past 1821 and trying to take on Austria. If only to see what happens colonial-wise. Castile got trounced by Aragon so they were late to the empire business. Britain set up shop where they normally are. The USA exists, but rebelled from France and occupies what's now New England and basically most of Canada. Most of the major new world countries have westernized. The Ottomans border China now and almost nobody's touched SE Asia.

I got to 100% on Gran Turismo 2 today. On my PSX emulator.

That's something I never got done as a child when that game was actually new.

Just polished off Nexus the Jupiter Incident

Its an older game but if you like big ass space ships and slow (sometimes too slow) but deep combat its a winner.

Plus its on sale on Steam atm for 3 bucks so you cant really go wrong here.

A few minutes ago, I platinumed Dying Light. I know zombies have been overdone, but Techland delivered something great through this game. If civilization ended tomorrow, and I had to go hide in the mountains, I would gladly take Dying Light with me.

Just beat kingdom hearts re: chain of memories today (Sora's campaign).

I've been playing through the series and I just finished KH1 about 2 weeks ago. I didn't platinum it but I did beat it 100% by the game's standards. CoM is kind of fun to play once you work out the incredibly gimmicky card system, but certain boss fights are absolute hell unless you have exactly the right deck and know what you're doing. I'm actually kind of surprised I beat it.

Not confident I can beat Riku's campaign but I'm going to try.
