And this is exactly why anything animated in Transformers past Transformers Prime is garbage. Maybe except Rescue Bots.
they really made a transgenders transformers
They already did that with Arcee, because IDW is a shithole surpassing Marvel & DC in cringe. I shit you not, the person behind it has enough potential to get "her" (formerly his) own thread, that troon is a near lolcow material.

Not Furman, that's the one who did the OG one where she was just a schizo tranny. I'm talking about the one who later rebooted the raging tranny story for "modern audiences" & removed the schizo context. "Her" name is Jenevieve Frank, His Twitter bio literally has "Helped Save/Ruin Arcee Once" on it. He is also known for being the main instigator behind the Furai Toys Windblade drama, I have archives to prove this & other aspects of his lolcowdom.

And he looks like this, contrary to what his other photos may tell you:

Jen Frank is arguably a lolcow in his own right, maybe enough for a thread.

If anyone ever gets the idea of making a thread, I just wanna say that I have enough archives on multiple of her hypocrisies, infamous dramas, her shills, etc. & even have a ready enough material for a written OP on some matters. So just message me if anyone wants to get on the pump n' dump more easily.

Tho, some research will still need to be done cause I don't have anything from 2022, cause I hate this tranny, & only knew about her due to her autistic tirade over the Furai Toys Windblade.

That said, all of the Transformers fandom can get it's own thread for being retards. I can also somewhat help with that due to giving some history on some infamous lolcows & moments of the fandoms retardation, but that thread won't be mich apart from laughing at Twitter, Reddit, & the forums.

I'm not going to judge since it was massively popular and all but I've seen a lot of troons who are fans of Transformers.
This is all from an outsider's perspective though, I'd be interested in seeing what @Xenomorphs Are Cute has to say. It's probably just the standard "manchild has manchild hobbies" correlation.

Transformers also has a big fujoshi following, and most of the Tumblr fujos have trooned out themselves. It's most likely a mishmash of all sorts of things about the franchise that have brought this collective of mental illness that's no different from other fandoms, it's just egregious with this one because it involves sapient robots created by Americans to sell toys.

Apparently, the new Trigun anime special was reportedly influenced by the Marvel Cinnematic Universe, and some anime fans were concerned that it might cheapen the source material for the sake of making it too Americanized for Japanese and overseas audiences.

However, some thought that they were overreacting and at one point claiming that they were trying to gatekeep more new anime fans from coming into the fandom.

But then, I saw this tweet:

You can expect more pushback like this to happen. These people really think that the Westernized animation in North America of today thinks it should be represented everywhere else in the world.

Ironically, in regards to the Trigun situation, I'm going the opposite direction-I am getting a bit sick of SO MUCH America animation just being "American anime." Like the style, "srs bsness" plotlines, smoother outlines, more detailed backgrounds, etc. I mean, a number of the shows aren't even BAD per se, I just don't want "Western" animation to lose its identity and all just become anime-lite. Heck, down to following the "isekai" trends (see: Owl House and Amphibia). I just miss the chaos of the mid to late 90s and early 00s style.

Well, TBF, that or "Family Guy style."

2000s was the final good decade for animation (as with mostly anything else in this world). The 2000s marks the final era of the UPA-esque artstyle, and that style has always been my favorite.

I just want my sharp angles back dang it! Sick of rounded, smoothed lines on everything!
Y'know, it's interesting you mention that because the people making anime-esque Western cartoons grew up watching older anime, most of the out-spoken ones from the '90s which are known for their sharp, thick angles on top of overexaggerated faces. It's an inside joke that anime caught the case of the uglies in the '90s which carried over into the early-to-mid-2000s as it went digital.

However, the most popular influential '90s anime in the West are Dragon Ball Z and Sailor Moon regardless of what people will tell you. Yet both titles in the early seasons (typically the seasons that everyone has seen) looked more like '80s anime than '90s, which consists of the more soft, rounded look, and you can see their progression into when it was they became more '90s.

Although interestingly enough, Sailor Moon manages to keep the look consistent until Sailor Stars, although you have to be paying attention to notice that. (Maybe I should've just shown off the transformation sequences, but I purposefully went for random mid-season episodes.)

This looks bad with today's beanmouth shows because everything's digital, everything's been tweened, everything's sanitized, and no one can seem to figure out how to draw anatomy correctly even when exaggerated (especially female characters because boobs are bad). There is no sense of weight, or that it even looks like actual human hands made them. Everyone saw the success of Adventure Time and wanted to do just that (not helped that many people who worked on that show went on to do their own thing), and look where we are now.

I just want to go back to the 2000s where people took issue with how Teen Titans looked even though that was probably the best case-scenario before A:TLA came out. Ciro Nieli is a legit fan of anime and knew how to pay homage to it, honing his skills to get better at making anime faces seamless in his work.
