Wikia / FANDOM - The ugly result of giving aspies control of their own wiki websites

Fandom is downright unusable without any kind of ad blocking software, the fact that this means it could render the mobile versions of sites like GameFAQs nearly unusable as well is infuriating.

God don't you just love corporate monopolies?
It's STILL unusable even with one. The website, until very recently, had pop-up quizzes that automatically started regardless of what wiki you were currently browsing.
And for a laugh, try using the Fandom website on a phone. Im-fucking-possible. And they do it on purpose to try and force you to download their app.

Anyway, I think it's time now to unmask the identity of what is, I think indisputably, Fandom's BIGGEST lolcow.

I present to you all, Fandyllic, powerword James Kinoshita:
Fandyllic Real.jpg

According to his own Facebook profile, Kinoshita went to High School in 1984, and College in 1989, before working at Microsoft from 1997 until 2004. This means he is an oldfag, certainly by Wiki standards at least, considering most of the people he has worked with are easily 15 - 20 years his junior. It's also coincidental that he started editing wikis around the same time he was presumably fired from his day job.

I'll just let this UrbanDictionary definition do its job for me to brief you on what sort of guy Fandyllic is.

Kinoshita is a self-described leftist whose Twitter account was active from 2012 until 2015. During that time, he retweeted the likes of Brianna Wu, Sarah Silverman, and Laci Green during GamerGate. Evidently a far cry from the days of his older DeviantArt account, where half of his favourites were pictures of girls in slightly slutty Star Trek outfits.

And yes, he has his own Wiki with a grand total of 18 pages. Despite the fact that personal wikis are expressly disallowed by the rules, this colostomy bag gets to have one. And if you check "Recent Activity", you'll note that he STILL updates it to this day.

WoWWiki Drama
Kinoshita was an active user of WoWWiki from very early on in its life, and by late 2005, he was already nominated by its user base as a "crazy person", that is to say, if you check the rules for those nominations, a trusted editor. But the term certainly describes this sad little psycho. Please note here that I am not an expert in WoW nor its associated wiki projects, I'm simply an outsider who remembers this drama from way back when. If I get a couple things wrong, that's on me.

When it merged with Wikia in 2007, Fandyllic spread his shit further afield, and eventually wormed his way into a job with the company. A few years later, Wikia started to alienate a lot of its core audience in one fell swoop once its popular and ubiquitous Monaco was replaced with the "New Skin", which was universally reviled and the battle scars from which are still present to this day. If only they could have foreseen FandomDesktop...

But not only was this new skin ugly, it broke a lot of the features that WoWWiki took for granted. This prompted a 250kb discussion that resulted in WowPedia being founded independently from Wikia. The decision to move was pretty much unanimous, aside from Kinoshita and a few of his buddies, like Jonas Luster for instance. Special shout-out to Raylan13, who in 2018 purged most of the classic WoW Wiki, owing to the fact there has supposedly never been an "official" classic release and anything not considered "official" was deleted. If you'd like to know unnecessarily more about these people, there's an entire book dedicated to this autism.

Naturally, Kinoshita realised the error of his ways, but a little too late to do anything about it.

With almost all of the community vanishing from Wikia to join WowPedia, WoWWiki became a ghost-town, and most of its "new" content was shamelessly stolen from WowPedia. That is until 2018, when Wikia's owners TPG Capital acquired GamePedia, forcing a reunion. Naturally, Kinoshita's reaction was that of overwhelming joy.

However, with its userbase becoming even more irate and threatening a second split, he quickly hid his excitement and tried to extend an olive branch, but it didn't really work. No one in their right mind wanted this dickhead back on, and he was quickly pushed to the side with Fandyllic making just 15 edits since the merge. Most of these in the past couple of weeks for some reason.

Instead, Fandyllic spent an unhealthy amount of his days trawling Community Central, but rather than try to help the member base who were were stuck or struggling with their own projects, he instead decided to fuck with them. This caused his final downfall.

Block From Fandom
Eventually, even Fandom got tired of this asshole being so combative in everything he said that they made the decision to block Fandyllic in November 2021.

Did Fandyllic use this as a time to reflect, to realise that more than 15 years of being an egotistical cunt had come back to bite him in the ass?

Fuck no. Since his block, he has spent the past year whining on his own Message Wall, where he isn't blocked from posting, continuing to complain about Fandom. He considers his block "censorship" and views himself as a "man of the people" against Fandom, which is hilarious when you consider for so many years, Fandyllic:
  • Took over WoWWiki and ran it into the ground
  • Caused most of the community to exodus over into WowPedia after Fandom held the WoWWiki name captive and kept it open
  • Giggled like a schoolboy once he realised Fandom acquired GamePedia and those who valiantly tried to run away from him would be coming back
  • Spent the rest of his time on Community browbeating other admins such as myself
Enjoy screaming into the ether, James, because you will never be a wiki editor ever again. Must fucking hurt to lose your livelihood of nearly 20 years.
On behalf of myself and many others who had to put up with you over the years:

FUCK YOU.

All of them are ads of consoomerist shit franchises. They are forcing their consoomerist videos on you. MCU's greatest lolcow characters and how they should have been doxxxed instead - ep 535

Some long-abandoned wiki for a /pol/ Pokemon romhack survives on Fandom to this day. It's mostly copypastes of actual Pokemon with some ancient /pol/ memes but it's hilarious seeing this sort of humor on a normie website juxtaposed right next to corporate-friendly CONSOOM advertisement.

Too worried making sure the gneders of fictional characters are enforced site wide to actually pay attention to anything else. lol And these people own gamespot and gamefaqs now.

I have 3 questions.
1. How has that guy seen most of the Whisper porn out there?
2. Why is “man of culture” code for “porn addict?”
3. Does Sonic porn make you a furry?

1. Does anyone really want to know the details of that claim?
2. Why not?
3. hmmmmmm...............?

Answering questions with other questions, huh?
1. Yes, I do.
2. I actually know the answer. It’s a meme that came from coomers
3. I still don’t know
And now I have another question: why send someone porn through Fandom?

1. ok.. good luck with that. lol
2. Maybe but it is somewhat true.
3. Maybe then?
That is a really good question. Why not just go to rule34, e621 or someplace like that?

And this is a completely different one from Pokemon Clover? Weird

  • Thunk-Provoking
Reactions: Haffhart
Well, in addition to that, he even admitted to drawing child porn on paheal
And he pins the blame on Kbos in a desperate attempt to make himself look like the victim.
Yeah but what is this guy all about? What are these wikis even for? It's full of inane bullshit.

Mentally deficient man who runs an massive wiki turns out to be an even bigger pervert, as far as I can tell. Apparently, he's been jerking it to mostly cartoon teenagers and was very open about it. There's also the aforementioned incident where.he was sexting an minor. Other than that, it's mostly the same Discord drama that we all know and love...But with several spastics off of YouTube hating him.

As far as I can tell, it's Fandom's attempt at boosting their statistics with these fanon wikis that occasionally regress into autistic manchildren trying to backstab each other
