Volition could have tried to make a game SR fans loved and gone out of business, as maybe the market no longer exists for such a game. That was always possible, if unlikely. Instead they stuck to their "dude crime is exactly like a startup, anyone want a mugmosa lol #bigtechproblems" vision and not only did they end up in dev jail, they attracted the attention of the the most fucked up molester on their cellblock. They've suffered a fate worse than death: working for Randy Pitchford

I mean sure, Volition isn't dead according to the media (and especially Gearbox), but it is to us.

And also, must I remind you that Gearbox is also a Take-Two company and is also a very shit company in general, and you know what else Take-Two owns? Rockstar, and they are responsible for the GTA games. So, IF there's a chance, we might see a GTA/Saints Row crossover we will never hope for.

Nah, Embracer bought Gearbox a year and a half ago. You can hope that they do a Saints Row x Settlers of Catan though.

I think the best part of all of this is that there’s barely anyone talking about this anywhere. When I look on videos talking about how Volition is more or less dead, all I see are videos that can’t even scrape 1000 views.

They’re not just dying out disgraced, they’re dying disgraced and forgotten. It’s a tragedy, especially since they’ve created my favorite crime sim of all time, but it’s absolutely fucking deserved.

I’m a few days late to this, but it also speaks volumes how Volition did all of this to these nu-Saints, and the funniest thing about it is that wasn’t even nominated for anything at The Game Awards 2022 hosted by the Dorito Pope.

Truly more heartbreaking than leaving your own fanbase in the dust is joining forces with the same people that made Borderlands into a once respected game to now a parody of what it’s become. Even the worst Borderlands game is better than whatever this game tried to turn itself to.

This was a long time coming, but it’s also annoying how this came into fruition in the first place.

They'll probably use Saints Row as more of a name brand than actually continue on with the franchise. They might do the same thing once they purchase Crystal and Eidos IPs like Tomb Raider and Thief, if the former's upcoming game fails to deliver.
