I can't wait for the next GDC where the devs basically throw their hands up saying that they did everything to cater to idiots like DSP, but they still failed. Short of them coming to Phil's house and yelling in his face to use the block button, what else can they do?
Besides tipping Phil, I mean.

i hate when he tries to jump on bandwagons and act like hes a fan of stuff. it doesnt work when we have hundreds of hours of footage of him playing dark souls and 99% hes complaining calling it shit and the developers stupid and saying "this sucks"

The language he uses and the way he plays is inherently un-immersive. Saying "today we're going to talk to that 'NPC' and do some 'side content,' guis." If you are immersed in the game (and not secretly using guides), then you are not even really aware of what is 'side content' or not, let alone designating an entire time-regimented stream days towards it.

He said he's gonna play the upcoming One Piece JRPG (no doubt to bait Slayer's tardbux) and I can already imagine him being wrong about even the most basic shit. I got a tenner on him mispronouncing Usopp's name (and doubling down on being wrong) for like 5 streams straight until Slayer spergs out about it enough.

Yes this game is severly dumbed down, is a back seat gaming simulator and has writing of a walking sim about annoying teens it's bascially God of Accessibly: Ragnahandholding. It's for people who got extremely twitter pissy that the last fromsoft souls game, which are infamously cryptic, had a cryptic hint where the tutorial was.
So this game, much like phil running from the gay DSP in his head, over compensates by telling you what to do for everything to the point where it actually backfires and one puzzle you'll get two npcs spamming you with "up there" when the thing you need to hit is right in front of you. They do it in combat too cause they tried to make a souls lite combat but the FOV is set to colonoscopy so you can't actually see attacks coming from behind of to the side so NPCs will tell you you should dodge, which actually makes thins worse
The only thing it doesn't hand hold you on is the puzzle chests which are less puzzle more find the hidden item from my daugther's high lights magazine but those are more rewarding.
It's a weird game if you play like a retard or phil its easy but if you overthink things you only make it harder on yourself.
Best part about this clip is what he's going on about and how he's going on about it with context of what he's doing in game.
you see that little lizard he takes his time aiming at the front of and finally throws his axe? Yeah you need to attack them from behind, the game tells you this repeatedly as one of the many hand holding things in this game.
EDIT - wait didn't he go on some high khet about how it doesn't matter what difficulty you play games on there's no one set way you have to play a game yadda yadda snort snort when he played ER and anytime someone asks if he'll play a game on hard?

It's genuinely impressive how they used him as a focal point for dumbing down game development, and he still found away to break that mold. It's only been what like 3 years?
Reminds me alot of a George Carlin joke. Imagine the stupidest person you know. Half the people in the world are dumber than that. They developing these games for the average retard. But daves somehow found a way to distance himself from the average idiot. Finding himself in some basement world of retardation and reward based monetization. Until you turn every game into a gacha, he ain't gonna understand shit, his brain ain't interested in that sort of reward anymore. They planned on developing games for the simpleton and Dave said hold my gin. 3 years from now I'm gonna be on a level of retardation and entitlement you couldn't even fathom.

i noticed something last night while i was watching someone play God of War on normal difficulty. for all of phils screaming and pissing about "NORMAL DIFFICULTY IS HOW THE GAME WAS DESIGNED TO BE EXPERIENCED"
that's apparently not true. I've been playing God of War on the highest difficulty possible, and while I have complaints, I noticed during the Heimdall boss fight from the streamer I watched, Heimdall wasn't behaving how he did for me. I'm not sure if it's the same on Give Me No Mercy or just on Give Me God of War, but Heimdall definitely had different attack patterns when I fought him compared to when that streamer on normal difficulty fought him. I'm not sure how many bosses this is true for, but there are at least 2 attacks Heimdall was throwing at me pretty regularly that he didn't use at all on the normal difficulty that I saw.
so phil is missing out on content and experiences the game has to offer due to a skill issue. rip.
