The Last of Us Franchise - Because it's apparently a franchise now. This thread has been double-DMCA’d by Sony Interactive Entertainment.

I wonder if they will try to make this game the "oliver branch" towards us now that they suddenly realise they need our money us.

If so, spit on their face and give them nothing. They would do much worse to you if they were in your place.
Kneel has expressed zero remorse about how TLOU2 went so I highly doubt it. In fact you can probably expect them to double down and do something like this:

Kill? Nah, with the redemption arc they'll become lesbian lovers and have a totally plausible lesbian love child.

As Uncharted already shows, Sony will just reboot the franchise if the original developers are unable or unwilling to make more games. They have other studios who can match or exceed Naughty Dog's quality.

Oh no, dont misunderstand me, Im not saying Cuckmann would have a change of heart, I meant Sony would look at the numbers and freak out behind closed doors and demand a course correction...because if there is something Sony loves more than wokeness and cinematic games to a fault is cash.

Then again, I may be giving Sony far too much credit as well.
Cuckman's just going to shove more lesbian ryona fetish garbage down our throats again. I wonder how many women the asshole will force into his basement this go around.

Fixed it for ya

I don't think they have any that are woke enough to match ND's wokeness though. Although others are coming close.

Insomniac has shown to be more than willing, but their A-team is reserved for capeshit for the next decade. Bend got purged of anyone of value and they're free, though.

Also, fuck Sony for redlighting Days Gone 2 but going ahead with a movie.

Days Gone really wasn't that good. The horde mechanic was never done right, so the zombies were not an interesting physics based threat. They were not able to pour out of holes and stack on top of each other like world war Z. Nor could you direct the mob to spill into areas and have them wear down places because they skimped out on allowing everything to be damaged and broken down. The game was ambitious on paper but in execution it was poor.

The setting and everything else wasn't unique, it felt just poorly thought out as Biomutant.

Days Gone ideally should have been third person Incredible Machine with zombies, where you use the dead hordes to solve environmental puzzles and overcome challenges while constantly being under threat of Galaxy Braining yourself into oblivion if your horde got out of control or didn't go in the direction you thought they would.

Abby still has to kill Ellie and completely burry the franchise.
Given what a terrible person Abby is, I could actually see this happening.

Looking from Part 2's perspective, maybe following Abby after the events of Part 2 as she tries to start over with her tranny pet.
I agree that totally seems to be where Part 2 was trying to go, what with Abby and the Tranny being obvious replacements for Joel and Ellie. But does anybody actually, unironically like Abby who are also not complete parasites on society and/or Neil Druckman?

That sounds fucking amazing.

I only liked Abby, because almost everyone around her was dumber than she was. And the worst one of all was the Druckman self-insert who bangs her; everything bad story wise about that game, could be attributed to that character being a fucking retard whenever allowed. That aside, I like coin collecting, and people who have all their fingers... that's where my love ends.

If Sony gets really creatively bankrupt, they can do the "unpopular" thing and remake (or something else) with Legend of Dragoon.

Letting Druckmann make a Part 3 after the failures of Part 2, the Part 1 remake and the inevitable failure of the liver service Last of Us is pretty much taking a golf club to playstation itself
I'd really hold off calling any future TLOU thing a failure because the TV series is one big huge commercial for the whole series.

Not only that but having a weak entry for part 2 is a tradition for many games. Mario, Castlevania, Metal Gear, Final Fantasy, Tetris, etc.

I'm just hoping Naughty Dog learned what sony's other studios do and have more content in their games. A Post Apocalypse Yakuza style game would not be a bad idea.

I can't remember the exact name; but it's a Fist of the North Star game, done by the Ryu ga Gotoku team. Full on Yakuza/RGG mechanics, complete with a DLC skin of Kenshiro as Kiryu.

Im sure a disturbingly high number of people would still care. I have seen so many people just enjoying pieces of media that would be laughed off around 20 years ago.
Its kind like with Avatar 2 and people still wanting to watch it despite all the flaws of the first one and the signs that the sequel will do practically the same thing but prettier.

Maybe its a sense of loyalty to the brand and product (and/or the message in them), because we live in a godless society where parents dont mean anything anymore so the government and mega corporations are your caretaker/God.

No one should expect remorse from this faggot when he literally modeled his likeness over the guy that spits on Joel's body.

But did those sequels killed off the main character of the previous game, then said that the main character was actually a bad man, and tried to spoon feed sympathy for the killer?

Super Mario 2 was a dream and Metal Gear Solid 2 had you running naked down a tunnel.

Killing someone in a zombie apocalypse usually means they're not going to stay dead.

You forgot that there were two Super Mario 2s, one being an expansion pack of the first and the other was an asset flip, but it doesn't negate your point.

That's exatcly why i want a sequel of days gone to happen: to improve the gameplay

To be fair the IP isn't dead, a sequel or reboot isn't out of the question, their TV shows and movies seem to be intended to solely generate hype for future franchise projects and have either a new game or a remake tied to them in order to sell hardware and software. The new Spider-Man movie trailer even ends with a PS5 ad to help promote Spider-Man 2 for the PS5.

Older IPs like Twisted Metal got a full TV show for NBC, and it seems they're trying to keep everything they own somewhat active in some form of media. Fantavision just got a sequel coming out of nowhere, Ape Escape has had new things made for it, Gravity Rush is slated for some kind of film or animation, and you now have IPs like Horizon now spreading out into multiple genres with different casts of characters.

I think a sequel is very likely to happen if the Days Gone is received well in other media. And more or less supplementary media has always helped in terms of a series finding it's footing or for something to help make it stand out against it's competition. Part of the reason why many franchises like Pokemon still persist is because of having things like a regular TV show that helps sell consumers on other merchandise.

How Sony is treating it's game franchises currently is really no different than the likes of how things happened in the late 80's and early 90's. Like with Super Mario Super Show or Sonic The Hedgehog(outside of Sony's attempt being on a far larger scale). Even though subpar game installments Sonic's non-game media is well known among it's fandom and many of the shows or comics are decades old and new ones keep getting made.

You could also probably argue that Day's Gone development team may have not been the best to handle such an elaborate game, and that for the concepts to be fully realized it may be better to hand off the IP to another studio for future projects.
