It's more that it's a conversation and not a sermon. It reminds me of the pre social media internet. People coming together with similar interests and shitposting freely.

The switch from pulling jokes out of chat, to preaching at it instead, is certainly the biggest thing that made me stop watching. Far more than the degenerate faggotry itself.

Audience participation via call-in was a key piece of a lot of traditional radio shows, and the back and forth with chat, along with Nick's ability to pull content and humor from chat, was certainly a big part of what separated him from other boring Lawtalk streamers. But chat doesn't scale, and part of the problem is that the audience got too big for any kind of real interaction. There's no way to communicate with a 5,000 strong chat room. I can't blame streamers from focusing only on the superberries, but that does mean you'll be stuck primarily interacting with the parasocial sycophants willing to shell out $20 to get their favorite streamer to read "uwu".

As far as I can tell Nick's biggest problem is he started taking the adoration and validation from his new audience of suicidal gay weebs, mentally unstable aging thots, and camp following simps way too seriously.

I'm increasingly coming to the belief that the arc where some crazy BPD woman comes forward with "Nick Rekieta groomed me!" is inevitable at this point. These women are nuts, so even if he is giving zero additional affirmation beyond the "Amazing [body parts]!" he posts publicly on the Locals chat, eventually someone is going to spin that into something more for attention, which is all they crave anyway. Add to the mix the fact that eventually someone's husband is going to find out what his wife has been posting and she'll have to spin it somehow. It may be a generation thing but i grew up on stuff like art bell and call in shows. The chat is the call-in audience. I used to listen to a ton of internet radio in the late 90s and was always in the irc channels talking to the hosts about stuff. Nick was one of the few streamers to actually pay attention to the chat and that was a major appeal to me. Metokur did it to the end and only a handful of streamers do it now. This is part in why Pippa is so popular.

Those were the days. Nick isnt even 1/10th as entertaining as Art Bell in his prime. Coast to Coast AM and shows like that kept me sane when I used to work shit jobs.

The lesson here is your "kingdom" can be taken from you due to the consequences of your own actions by going astray. Whether that "kingdom" be your wealth, your household, your family, or you livelihood. Everything you've built could turn into an Empire of Ash due to you drunkenly playing with fire after others have tried to make you see the grievous errors of your choices.
