God, I’m bored of Harley Quinn. I’m tired of superheroes in general.

Satanic demonology and futuristic dystopians too. But I say let them stay busy running them further into the ground. Keeps them away from new fertile grounds like Steampunk and Westerns long enough for somebody (or some group) competent enough to come along and flourish.

Velma is a prime example of how rotten our society currently is. It has homosexuality, nudity, wokeism, it's edgy, unfunny... it probably even has trannies too, but I don't want to look more into it.

The only silver lining is that it's not marketed as a kids show. But children's cartoons these days are full of fags and shitty stuff too.

Digital animation was a mistake. I don't care what any of you says, it ruined the medium. Now we have cookie-cutter shows that require zero skill to produce. The classics are still classics because those men were masters of their craft. Modern cartoons are souless and cause brainrot.

In case it's not, you are primo retardo if you think animation would never evolve past paper and hand-painted cels. And even more so if you think all the money to put such effort into the classic ways would guarantee success! Look for the good shit you want and expand your horizons. Sittin around seeing what Twatter is squaking about for the hour or whatever the streaming bubbles are limping to the barn with will not get you what you want.

Johnny Test and Tucca & Birdie are special cases though. Both shows got second chances from being cancelled before and got canned again. I don't see places like CN or [AS] giving new homes to any of these shows. And that's if Netflix let them keep their rights.

I think it's a fact that saying “X is a mistake” isn't 100% serious. I know there's value in digital animation and some of it can look really amazing. But it's also a fact that it's easier to do, which has led to lower standards in general. Now every woke idiot, like this pajeet woman, can make their cartoon in no time.

In general I don't have interest for cartoons, though. I stopped watching them as a kid and I've always found adult toons too edgy for me. I just came to seethe because where else but the Farms can I complain about retarded stuff.

I don’t think Young Justice is part of the DCAU. The DCAU is basically just Paul Dini and Bruce Timm’s works, plus Static Shock.

I know Teen Titans 2003 was debated as being, but I think it came out to a no.

Since I am so fucking tired of this thread being all about Velma, I decided to share with you all something actually good.

This is one of my favorite childhood movies: John the Fearless.

English Dub version taken from an old VHS (uploader included commercials and everything). This is also on Archive.org but for some reason the uploader used the split-into-two-parts version from Zippcast, Youtube has the full thing in one video. Maybe I should get an Archive.org account.

Note: Dub hoster has said he's gonna delete his account in a few days, so I recommend downloading the vid.

Here's the original Flemish version with English subtitles. There's occasional debates in the comments about whether this or the English version is better... I'll let you decide. I like the Flemish music in isolation but I grew up with the dub VHS so to me it will always feel weird watching this movie in its original language where the music and sound effects are completely different.

And I will not hear any bitching about the artstyle. People these days should be happy when something isn't just another generic anime wannabe or CalArts.

Really what I wish someone would do is take the dub soundtrack but place it over the way better quality footage of the Flemish upload (there's also a fan HD remaster on Youtube but I don't think that has subtitles). I'd do it myself but I don't know how.

I blame fans. Harley and Ivy are gay in the comics, so there was a massive sperg out over them not being gay in the show after season 1. Then, hilariously, it reverted to support over Kiteman and Ivy and a mass sperg out over them not being together. Simply put, fans couldn’t handle changes till it was too late.

Tldr Harley sucks, Ivys a slut, and its time to pass an IRL superhuman banning act...but nobody has the balls to do it.

Harley and Ivy are fine, but they suffer heavily from the ever-changing, or should I say never-changing, landscape of comics. They are characters with obvious story arcs that have great set ups, but are never given a pay off because ‘muh status quo’. Mister Freeze and Catwoman suffer hard in this regard too. Harley should have joined Batman, Catwoman and Batman should be together, Ivy should be reformed, and Freeze should be reformed, maybe even aiding Batman. Of course, none of this ever happens and instead Ivy and Harley can’t decide if they are retired and just go on nonsensical adventures because DC has no idea what to do with them, Catwoman always chucks out of being with Bruce for some BS reasoning, and Mr. Freeze is now written like an un-empathetic psycho nihilist who just kills people because fuck it. Even his wife does just to add more fuel to the fire.

In saying this, I appreciate the Harley show for seeing Injustice was the best modern adaptation of Harley and choosing that she should join the Bat-Family post season 3. It has been a long time coming for that to happen, plus making her Bruce’s therapist was a surprisingly good move as it lead to a great episode of really any Batman adaptation. Harley really just needs shit to do, she is a good character but DC prevents any drastic changes from occurring, so writers just BS stories for her out of desperation to give her anything.

Bullshit, the Injustice version of the character combines all the worst elements of her modern interpretations: the vapid shallow personality, the 'lol randomz' jokes that get nothing but dead air, constantly punching above her weight because the script's on her side and sweeping every terrible thing she's done under the rug because the Joker completely washes her of any accountability. Even when it's only a week or so after she and Joker destroyed an entire city with a nuke, killing not just innocent civilians, children and Superman's unborn baby, but many super heroes as well, Green Arrow is talking to her like just an annoying sidekick. Her crimes are only brought up to make us pity her for characters being so mean to dare hold a grudge for killing their loved ones.
