Western Animation - Discuss American, Canadian, and European cartoons here (or just bitch about wokeshit, I guess)

I feel like it could work way better if it was a tv series for miles specifically with no multiverse bs. Just miles doing spiderman/school stuff like how spectacular spiderman did, would watch that shit immediately tbh.
That’s dumb.

They already did that with Peter Parker. It would be doing the same thing but with a black lead.

That’s dumb.

They already did that with Peter Parker in several different versions.
Yeah and all of them were pretty much the same except for Unlimited, TAS, and Spectacular, which were all canceled and unfinished. It'd definitely be better and make more sense than the new shitty spiderman homecoming cartoon.
And spiderverse miles is vastly different from Peter and the miles from the ultimate universe so I'm not sure what you are trying to say here.

It’s dumb because superheroes are overrated.

No one wants to watch a bunch of people in costumes fight some costumed maniac every week, except for children and immature adults.

I agree, but not every superhero is shitty.
It mostly depends on who writes the comics and how its executed. Yea most writers are absolute shit and most hero concepts are just overall dumb and pointless. But if an actual good writer comes along and can make an actual interesting story and concept then I'm all for it.

It doesn’t change the fact that superheroes are overrated or that no one wants to watch that shit except for manchildren and kids.

Not to mention, superheroes are for kids. They’re entertaining and adults can enjoy them but they’re still fantasies for children.

I have no expectations for this. Probably going to be on the level of strange world. Screenshot_20230302_142509_com.twitter.android_edit_13931900125998.jpg
The pedos are exited though. Except for Batman.
Batman is cool and all, but I was more of a Spawn guy.

Yep, this is gonna fail. Disney fantard mongoloids are still going to defend it, especially once it gets dumped onto Disney+ and it gets to be the number one product streamed over there (until Simpsons beats it again).

All I can say for certain is I hate the title.

Elio tells me nothing about the movie, I had to Google it and it's an obscure Dago name. Makes me think it's a sequel to Luca, another Pixar movie I didn't bother to watch.

Also I can't judge a Pixar movie on the human models because Pixar has usually made the humans look lousy. Case in point there was good reason to hide the 600 Pound fatties in Wall-E. But if you had told me that this was a claymation puppet I would have believed you.

At this point I wonder what was so bad about the cancelled Pixar movie "Newt" because it really feels Pixar almost lets anything out even if the movie is as exceedingly boring as The Good Dinosaur.

Had Seth stuck around in Hanna-Barbera, he could've made Larry & Steve as a kids show as America's own Wallace & Gromit.
Except Wallace and Gromit had more going on than just "smart dog lives with derpy single guy". W&G in it's beginnings was more of a "show, don't tell" kind of cartoon, as in very little dialogue (especially from Gromit whom says absolutely nothing), but tons of things happening, even if they were subtle, mainly to showcase the stop-motion claymation style. W&G is more of an artictic project that has elements that make a good show.

If we're going off of the pilot episode of Larry & Steve (i.e. the ONLY thing that aired on TV), then one can assume this was going to be "Slapstick: The Show + Tons of Talking", which while there's nothing wrong with it since things like Tom & Jerry are built upon that principle (minus the talking outside of scream clips of course), is a stark contras to Wallace & Gromit.

I don't think there was anything remotely bad about it, it just so happened Blue Sky released Rio, which was a very similar plot but with parrots, and Pixar didn't want another A Bugs' Life/Antz debacle again. I'm not happy about its cancelation either, but I at least understand why they did.

I'm still pissed that Pixar axed Newt because of it being too similar to Blue Sky's Rio. Sure, Rio was a good movie at the end of the day, but regardless of the final product, Newt would've been something we could've seen.

Of course in 2019, Disney bought Fox only to close down Blue Sky two years later because of the pandemic thew year prior and because it was costly as an animation studio unlike Illumination, Sony or DreamWorks.
Fixed that for you.
Kamen Rider is based and all, but you really have forgotten the Ninja Turtles.

It being too costly is bullshit, we all know they shut them down because they were direct competition (e.g. a threat) and clearly didn't want to work under the Mouse.
