It was pretty apparent that Phil at least enjoyed watching movies in his free time pre-Kat. He had a pretty large collection of DVDs/Blu-Rays, though I guess it’s possible that the large collection was just a symptom of Phil’s addiction to buying frivolous shit when he was making a lot of cash.

Exactly! Anybody who takes decent care of their body and is 40+ wouldn't feel like they're "old". Plus, this is just the beginning for Phil... it's not going to suddenly get better, his health will dramatically get worse because he's not taking care of himself, refusing to change his diet, etc., I'll be very, very surprised if he sees 50-55 years of age.

At that point you should be settled into a steady family routine, career, with a couple of little ones running around, with debt down to a mortgage and maybe a car payment. It was this recent "impromptu" video about Wo Long Dynasty for me.
Wo Long was just too hard for Phil. He wasn't up to the challenge. He couldn't handle it like he couldn't handle Leanna and it shredded his ego. It broke him so hard that he made the decision that he would NEVER play games with actual gameplay ever again. I think that is the beginning of the death knell for his already on-life-support channel. Now he's straight up admitted he will ONLY play easy games from here on out. He's finally become not just what he hates in modern streaming culture, but the perfect representation of it. He's the over-the-top fake reaction goofy kiddy shit silly-hat-wearing please-like-and-subscribe-and-tip muppet streamer he spent his entire adult life seething about.
